Re: Spring Garden
Mr. 2. it is. Green Thumb. LOLOL I can grow things that should die and kill things that should be living. MY MOM had the green thumb. Still..I do okay.
I've been working on TERRIBLE soil for the past 5 years around here. I've got some great soil in what WAS my strawberry soil...Strawberry plants are only good for a time and i got tired of fighting the squirrels and rabbits for them...even with bird netting. I've been adding supplements to my shrub beds, turning the soil over repeatedly..adding coffee grounds, manure, egg shells and top soil and they're coming along nicely. I'm spending less and less time on vegetables and more time on shrubs. I'm sure that will change well before 2024. This year, i'm sure i'll lose any fruit from my fruit trees...oh they're beautiful but there'll be a frost along here in the next week.

This year, 3 tomatoes and 3 hills of cucumbers so far. Maybe a few hills of yellow squash.

Re: Spring Garden
AFter a few days of near 80 degree weather, we had a weekend of 30 degrees at night and substantially cooler in the days. Not snow weather though. Warm today but still. I"m not ready to plant. I'm SURE another frost or two will be along directly.
On a happier note. The last couple frosts did not get my fruit trees it appears. Find out soon enough. Still had the remains of blooms through last week.

YAY! Oh, if I wasn't so bummed to hear your trees got frosted. And now I'm so glad for you. Will keep my fingers crossed!Calypso Jones wrote:AFter a few days of near 80 degree weather, we had a weekend of 30 degrees at night and substantially cooler in the days. Not snow weather though. @HawkTheSlayer, those are some GORGEOUS 'tater plants! My hat's off to you. What's your guesstimated yield?
Mr. 2, like I said, has been busy trying to get the garden tilled and dug. It's slow going. One row tilled awfully crooked. He decided that was a good thing. Made it longer. lol I did cut the seed 'taters today. Hoping to get them in tomorrow.
