Garden 2021
well...here we are.
I'm still not ready to put in anything...we go from cold to 80s. NOT consistent yet. So. Looks like i'll be waiting till 5-15.
Tomatoes and Peppers is my planned personal garden this year. I'll have my hands full with the shrub beds and spotty help.

I live in a condo with a small balcony that happens to have a large tree that blocks a lot of direct sunlight. So there is a limited number of things that I can get to grown there.

Re: Garden 2021
that would be a problem. THe way homes are placed has a lot to do with what can grow on what side of the house and where you place your garden. THankfully my grape arbor is to the west of my tomato bed.

Coons eat plants? My guess would be deer. Either that, or giraffes.jirqoadai wrote:juvenile racoon

Re: Garden 2021
five plants. the deer stops at eating five plants. no. a single deer wont eat corn plants, but horses love them. its a juvy just kicked out of den. tie some apple slices to the plate of the trap. youll see a coon arm or a skunk arm.

Re: Garden 2021
I picked a mater yesterday. And I planted a month later than I usually do. I have 8 or 10 beautiful, large cucumber vines. All the little cukes turn yellow and fall off. No pollinators , I guess.
I went Muscadine scouting this morning and then saw I still had about 3 hours of bush hogging to do. A small pasture about 2 miles back and 1 field road.
I found a few vines with dines. But they were not loaded last last year. Usually pick dat on da ground in August. I was surprised how small they were right now. About the size of a brown field pea.

Yer pickin' 'maters already? Wow! I'm impressed. We've got a bunch coming on, but none bigger 'n a quarter I'll bet.HawkTheSlayer wrote:I picked a mater yesterday. What kind of 'maters do you grow?
Sorry to hear about your cukes.
