Re: Garden 2022
I put in parsley, but maybe it was too hot, and I should try again this fall? It's my first try, and not doing so good.
But my if the two of you aren't ambitious!

Re: Garden 2022
oh mine is NOT going to be big @2cent. Just a small plot. GHQ is pushing me to do it. I"d like to know how to dehydrate. Now i've done jerky...but what about fruit and veggies?? Do you know how to do that??

@Calypso Jones, do I take it you don't have a dehydrator? 'Cuz, other than knowing fruit shouldn't be done above 135 d., a dehydrator is the only way I've done fruit.
*I got a NESCO Garden Master by American Harvest at Bass Pro some years back. We got the 4-rack style, but you can buy as few, or many, as you like. Comes w/a plastic tray for dehydrating fruit. WELL worth whatever we paid for it.

Be sure to spray your trays w/PAM before use. Works wonders for the cleaning dept.Calypso Jones wrote:So that means you have success with it. I"ll look into it.

Re: Garden 2022
i just held a rubythroated hummingbird in my hand. I walked into the garage for some reason and thankfully i walked over to the far window...i am hearing this low buzzing sound....i thought..moth or BEE!!! oH NO!! I lifted the blind and there at the top....beating its little wings in such terror and determination to get out....looking for 'the hole...there was none. It must have flown into the garage through the open door went to the window for the light and was trapped. I put my finger up to it and it lighted 3 or 4 times and each time i tried to bring it down to where i had removed the screen it left me and went to the highest point again.
I got a step ladder, very gently cupped it in my hand and brought it down to the open window and away it went. Not so much as a look back.

Thanks. LOL the air from those little wings...wow. It was like the wind from angel wings. not that i've ever felt angel wing wind mind you. And they're so light you can barely feel them. it was awesome.

Mr. 2 found a hummingbird in his truck that couldn't find it's way out, 'cuz the window was only cracked open a wee bit. Poor bird was about dead. So he got it some sugar water, dipped its beak in it a few times, and swoosh!, off it few.
