Those containers are huge. Knee high or deeper. Kinda hard to tell.

That you have to get a permit to grow anything in the U.S. is what's criminal.

That's what i meant.   You watch.   Witchmer started this in 2020.   She would not allow citizens to buy seed to plant their backyard gardens.  Monsanto would love that.

They pass these abusive damn laws to make us all criminals.

And to top it off, the loan we're going to need just to get the garden started.

I'm hearing that we, small backyard gardeners CAN get fertilizer although at higher prices.  The farmers on the other hand....cannot.

True, sanctions on Russian fertilizer are not helping matters one iota. But D.C. is so busy playing CYA that they don't notice all of us peons starving to death.
However, this guy's got a good notion going on.

It's is hard work. That's why five years ago, Wolf added biologicals to reduce the amount of fertilizer needed to grow his crops. Biologicals, in basic terms, are comparable to probiotics for crops.

Hopefully, those savings will be passed on to us consumers, even if I'm unsure of what is meant by "biologicals."
Do you know? Are they talking manure? Or other 'biologicals'?

Nevertheless, you're absolutely right about "who controls the food." I'm getting nervous. Paid $4/lb. for ground beef the other day. That's outrageous. And seriously worrisome. I wonder how families with young children are making out.

Finally bought our garden today. YAY!

$45. Not as painful as I thought it'd be.

I'm getting ready to plant of lot of watermelons on the side of my house. Everybody gunna crap when they see that. Lol.

I'm going to just make a small hill and plant 4 or 5 seeds in each hill, about 8 or 10 feet apart. I'll just leave the yard grass and let the vines grow on top of that and continue cutting around the melons vines as they grow.

Lol, I'm tempted to plant pumpkins or cushaws there in the same fashion but nobody gunna eat dat! They'll steal the melons though.
