You'll get plenty of chances.
Take my word for it...as an old-time four-wheeler. The four-wheel-drive doesn't make driving on slop, at all fun.
It's just as dangerous; just that it gives you an additional element of control. Takes more to lose it, but lose it, you can, and will.
Back 28 years ago, when I came out of the Navy, settled in Denver, and needed a job...my weekend job was driving a shuttle-bus between DIA and Vail and sometimes Aspen - a company called Vans2Vail. It was later bought by a competitor, Colorado Mountain Express.
But, the joke among us shuttle-drivers...both companys...was, that the rental-car companies should put THIS SIDE UP on all their rented SUVs. Because flatlanders would rent them, rush out on I-70, and around the Eisenhower Tunnel, park them on their roofs.
Just in October, I got a little reminder...that hellish trip back home from Moab with a trailer. Ran into an early-season snowstorm, and of course nobody had plow equipment ready. I got through the worst of it, and then, near Butte, I'm going over a bridge...IN 4WD...and the whole mess starts to jackknife.
What saved me was there was relatively-dry pavement on the far side of the bridge. I snapped right out of it, and learned that trailer is extraordinarily well-balanced. But...if I'd been Jabbed, I'd have had my heart attack, right there.
No...the best place to be in that kind of weather, is indoors. Some way...hotel, restaurant (with a liquor license) or at home (adult beverages and a fireplace, help). Not on the road. Not even if you have a flippin' SNOWMOBILE.

Re: Bad Weather!
I'm glad that's over.
I turned the recliner upside down and put the head part on the couch and crawled under there for a while.
I could here a tornado through the already high wind and heavy rain.
I still have power but I hear generators running all down the highway to the north.
I saw some emergency vehicles headed that way.
Bad Weather used to never bother me.
But now , I'm too old to die.
Gunna take a walk outside to see how high the water is. Got 3 inches quick.

Re: Bad Weather!
Everything is flooded. I can't see too many limbs down in the dark. I guess it's a good think there aren't any leaves on the trees.
I walked to the highway and the folks that live on the river(lake) are out to the north. But the other 2 lines are still energized.
My garbage bin was in the next door neighbors yard.
I think everything is ok.
I'll get up early to check things out.
