We cut the tops and bottoms off Ensure bottles to use as cones around 'mater and pepper plants stems, to keep the cut worms away.

You know every bit of plastic ever produced is still around today in some form. It never goes away.
This thread reminded me of something I saw on tv last night. An Aussie couple have made 100% compostable cling/plastic wrap out of potato waste and the market is huge.

Bottles too, if the fire is hot and lots of coals.
Nothing like watching a beer bottle slowly melt on a cold night with a beer buzz.

Re: Repurposing Stuff
Cardboard is really good.
I use it to cut out templates for shapes or put it under the car before I change the oil. Comfy to lie on, soaks up the minor drips that happen.
Put it under things I am painting or under the can when I open/close it

18 uses for toothpicks in your home.

I like using a toothpick to find the end of a roll of tape. I usually fold the tape over but that can be a pain at times. Next time I'll use a toothpick.
The cutworm idea is good if it works.
