Re: The systems under which we live.
Gasoline is $3.39/gal here, yesterday.
I need bread. I usually but 3 or 4 loaves and put them in the freezer.
I'm sure BunnyBread must be close to four dollars a loaf. I usually but Great Value Bread/20 oz. for 88 cents.

I loves me some Hwy 6!
Instead of taking the interstate to Sugarland, I pass Houston up heading west on I-10.
Then take 6 south to Sugar land.

Re: The systems under which we live.
that would add about an hour and a half to your travel time. i used to live off 6 south of 10 and it took rain or shine for fucking ever to get to sugarland mall. only reason id do it was my son would sit in the passenger seat talking to me the entire time. every light you catch takes an additional ten minutes.HawkTheSlayer wrote:jirqoadai wrote:$3.00/gal 4814 hwy 6 n houston

Re: The systems under which we live.
https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/average-australian-worker-went-backwards-by-800-in-2021-says-actu-chief-michele-o-neil/ar-AAV2KOZ?ocid=msedgntp
I read recently that Australias 5 million recipients of Centrelink payments
(unemployed, aged pensioners, disabled pensioners..etc)
will soon be receiving an increase in benefits.
The above link states that Australia has 2.4 million casual workers...
I assume that number represents those who do not have a full time job...
My guess is that in Australia we have about 5 million children under
the age of 18 who are still at school...(children in Australia do not qualify for
unemployment benefits until they are 22...hence most stay at school until
aged 18..then leave and go to uni or try to get a job
When these numbers are added together we have 12.4 million people
who are either at school, or are under employed or who are receiving
some type of government assistance via a pension etc...
Therefore we have half the population working full time..
12 million out of 25 millions......50%...
Every Australian is propped up in some way by some type of
government subsidy...whether it be child care subsidies, work related
subsidies or simply a grant which gives you x dollars to buy your kid
footy boots and play the game...
We even pay mums thousands to have children and then give them 13 weeks
paid maternity leave....
I think this is called a false economy....
Real estate costs an arm and a leg...rents are impossible to
afford...people live in caravans and even their cars....
And its going to get worse....
Much worse....

Welcome to Queanbeyan...where High School kids in Years 7-10 only
go to school 3 days a week due to a 2400 teacher shortage throughout
the state which has been worsening for 10 years...
And I read today that it is being predicted that Qld will soon have the
worst teacher shortage throughout Australia...
Worse than NSW...

Re: The systems under which we live.
Ive never been one to sympathize for teachers...
My concern is the kids and the incompetent governments
which allow the shortages to occur over many years....
