The systems under which we live.
https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/welcome-to-bellingen-where-rents-have-almost-doubled-in-a-year/ar-AAUdtOX?ocid=msedgntp
This is happening all over Australia.
Rents have skyrocketed....real estate prices are out of reach for many....
Everything in Australia costs an arm and a leg...
I read recently where thousands of people are leaving their jobs in search
of a better job and a better life...nurses are on strike..traindrivers are on strike...
..no-one to pick fruit..and so on and so on....
Anyone who secures a better paying job, or obtains a promotion is experiencing
an exercise in futility.
If everything keeps going up, how far does a pay rise go...
Rents go up, petrol (gas) goes up...food goes up...
In Australia, the government subsidizes Child Care for pre schoolers up to 90%
to enable mothers and fathers both to go to work.
They also pay parents thousands of dollars to have kids (baby bonus) and mum is paid
18 weeks maternity leave by the government if her employer does not......
Parents need two jobs just to survive, (one for mum, one for dad) yet the government
self praises due to their wonderful efforts of helping everyone...this is just a grab for
votes and an attempt to remain in power....
This country is in an absolute mess and the media/government sugar coat everything...
Ive had my rant for the day...
I wonder what its like in other countries....

Prices are rising here in the states and are going through the roof. Especially food prices.
This farce of a government still has three years to finish us off.

Re: The systems under which we live.
I am reading today that petrol (gas) prices in Oz wil go up..
(Due to the war in Ukraine)...
Well in some places they have already....
Needless to say one of the systems under which we live
is the taxation system...
It is well know in Oz that the grubberment takes a huge
amount out of the plebs pockets in the form of petrol excise...
Isnt it about time our grubberment reduced the taxes we pay on petrol...
No wait...they cant do that...
They need every cent they can get because the joint is broke...
Thats what happens under state and federal dictatorships...
I had to laugh the other day when Freakenberg (Treasurer) said that..
"they allow the australian people to keep more of the money they earn..."
How fkn condescending is that...
"WE ALLOW them to keep more...."
Meanwhile Freakenberg has just ordered the venison for lunch...
to be accompanied by a nice chardonnay...$300 a bottle I believe....
Arseholes...the lot of them....

Re: The systems under which we live.
My heart goes out to you, Billy. You were wondering how it's going elsewhere. Here in the U.S., it's getting troublesome. I was only half prepared for the pinch I knew I'd feel the last time I visited the grocery store. Near fell flat on my face to see bathroom tissue at THIRTY-TWO DOLLARS!!! (30 mega rolls. 861 sq ft.)
I haven't needed to buy meat in a while, so I've no idea where that's at. I'm very thankful that our home and vehicles are paid off. I worry for our children.
I'm frightfully angry, because, as we all know, this was all entirely UNNECESSARY!!!

Re: The systems under which we live.
Bangalow is a small hamlet of 2000 people located in northern NSW.
A friend of the family bought a house there several years ago...
Just an ordinary cottage..
Paid too much for it....$350,000...
They are going to list it for sale at 2 million....and think they will
get their asking price...
The average price for a Bangalow house is $1.5 million...
Many people in this region live/sleep in their cars because they
cannot afford the $600 pw rent which is being charged at the moment...
When I was a kid you could drive through Bangalow in 5 seconds...
Blink and you'd miss it...
One pub...two dogs and a post office....its a dump....
Something is seriously wrong with Australia if an old cottage
in Bangalow is going to be sold for 2 million....
Rant finished....

A 20oz loaf of bread at Wal-Mart was still 88 cents last week. Private label(Food Club brand) bread at the independent supermarket jumped from $1.29 to $1.59 for a 20oz loaf.
All meat is up. I only buy what's on sale.
I buy the Walmart sandpaper, toilet paper! 1000 sheets . That's 1000 shits in Mexico speak!
Single ply. 16 roll pack. It lasts a long time. Lol. It was still $9.96.

Geez, that's expensive for single ply. Expensive shits (sheets). How many of those sheets do you have to use to stop your fingers going through?
4 ply all the way here! 20 rolls for $12 and they last a long time too Lol.
Ooops I just checked. It's gone up $1. It's now $13 for 20! Ggggrrr!
