Lol. Yes, it's a pain in the ass. It's 100 yards from the faucet to the melons and about 80 from the faucet to my house maters.2cent wrote:Yes, I'd say that's quite enough, Hawk! Isn't it a bit of a pain watering the plants scattered all over? Or do I get the wrong impression?
IAC, good on you. There is something inherently good about folks who garden.
I have enough hose but still....
I start with a single hose watering those amazing tomatoes I have by by tractor shed where the faucet is located. Then I attach that hose to a three hose line to reach the melons and bell peppers.
Then I break the last two hoses off into single hoses and attach them to a splitter so I can finish watering the tomatoes by the house two at a time.
Lol.
The next day, I just start there and do it all in reverse.
Prolly quicker to fill 5 gallon buckets up with water. Lol

So how come you don't plant a garden all in one area?HawkTheSlayer wrote:Lol. Yes, it's a pain in the ass. Chop and freeze them. I use a lot. They don't last long.
They sell for $1.99/5.5 oz bunch in the store or arou d $6/lb.
Look.... I cut them 3 days ago. See how much they've grown already.
Look at how many divisions they have made. Each one was a single shallot when I planted them.
Soon I will have to dig them and dry them.

The general consensus seems to be that I am unconventional.2cent wrote:So how come you don't plant a garden all in one area?HawkTheSlayer wrote:Lol. Yes, it's a pain in the ass. Re: Garden 2022
gardening in one comon garden ISNT a good idea. once the deer crosses the grass, it wont cross back till its gorged itself. and it wont cross uncrossed grass twice in one night. yes, thats right......they go back the way they came. my concern was his planting so near a border. the more cut grass they cross, the more likely theyll turn back.

They sell them chopped and frozen here. They also come frozen in seasoning blend mix . You know, frozen chopped onion, bell pepper, green onion, parsley, garlic.
Lazy people buy the bejebus out of that stuff to cook with. It's convenient. No chopping. 12oz frozen bag, just drop it in the pot. Perfect amount for a family meal.
Last a long , long time in the freezer.
