Just the thought...makes me want to drive down there just to order a plate.
I'd probably never be able to do it myself here.

Good that he's got his grandson, or whoever, there to "help."
After a lifetime seeing the FOLLY of NON-career training we give kids...I'm becoming more and more sold on the idea of apprenticeships, formal or informal.
Get a kid his age interested, and he may take it with him for all his life. He'll probably make a better living at it than he will studying Business Management at State University.

It makes good sense. It's hard to bake, grill, or broil shrimp with raw bacon. The shrimp will cook long before the bacon.
But I do it. You need cheap ass, paper thin sliced bacon, and only enough to wrap the shrimp one or 2 times. Lol
By cooking the bacon a little first you can even out the cooking time.
I love fried shrimp. But I've never wrapped shrimp in bacon, battered and breaded the whole thing and fried it. Lol.
It's on my list though.

Judas, have you seen the lines, in the North and West, at Popeye's Chicken places? Horrid service. Small chicken pieces. But that food...is just to kill for.
There's a REAL desire for good cooking, and yes, some down-river Cajun flavor, in so many parts of the world. To learn how to do it, locally...
This would be a great time to open an independent Cajun eatery, here, with all these government employees and home-sale-rich Californicators, here. Except...the Plandemic lockdown was hard on them. Every place was closed for a month; and then only the chains and well-connected shops were permitted to reopen.
We lost a number of independent places (some deserved to go, like Rumours, which put in Unisex johns...that's something I have NO stomach for or tolerance of) and the local Red Robin. I can feel for them...they closed by order of the Healf De Part Ment, and then, when they were allowed to reopen, they had no help.
They tried for months to get employees, and apparently couldn't. So crews were taking the signs down, a month ago.
The last financial crash hit this area not hardly at all, but this Plandemic has really done things to the city.

We only wear masks for Mardi Gras, Halloween, or robberies.

Yeah, me, too.
Seems it makes me a pariah here. We still have a few bozos wearing Face Diapers on the sidewalks.
That's what comes of having few other than government employees and Californicators as townspeople.

Re: Bacon Wrapped, Fried Shrimp
If I had some bacon , I'd wrap these tenderloin morsels up and grill them .
But they'll be just as good when I finish Browning them good(that's the secret) and smothering them down with onions and bell pepper.
So tender you can't even slice them across the grain. Lol
Just take 2 forks and pull it apart and let it sit in the gravy.
Tonnerre et e'clair! Mais c'est si bon, Ouais!
