I'm of the belief that they should just be flushed or buried by the same fence post hole I pour all my automobile oil in but the wife ,being the goody 2 shoes she is asked me to bring them to the local drug store for disposal . I took them to the CVS and they told me the only ones that are authorized for disposal is the police dept . I brought them to the PD and they told me that I had to list each of them on a form ,give them my ID for each one and individually put them down a little hole that went into some kinda safe box . I told them that would take all afternoon cause I had 200 bottles of asst crap . I took them back home and pulled out the fence post and emptied them in the hole while having a few beers . I was never one of those tree hugger types anyways .

We just walk into a pharmacy, hand them over or drop them in a bin provided and walk out.  No questions asked.   I woulda buried them too if I had to go through all that nonsense lol.

Years ago they used to send them to impoverished nations but I don't think they are allowed to do that now.
When I worked in the supermarkets we used to send the outdated food and drugs and dented cans to Vietnam but I think they stopped that because someone said "if we can't eat it why should another country " !
That made sense so I'd give it to the employees to bury by their fence post .

If they caught you putting oil in those holes they'd raise the jail and put you under it.

It must be some law they put in effect out here to keep control of the pills but as usual they overdo it and now they're thrown in the garbage or flushed . I do recycle batteries though cause I found out the acid will rot my fence post .

You should pour the acid in the hole. Then apply for federal money through the Superfund, toxic clean-up program.

It's actually a serious problem.

About 40 percent of the population is now on some sort of psychoactive drug - antidepressants or tranks. A lot of people get them - they're "free" since "insurance" or Medicaid-Four-Awl pays for it - and find they don't help and sometimes mess up the head.

Into the toilet they go.

Into the sewerage system.

Excrement decomposes. Medicinals, less so. They're finding serotonin reuptake inhibitors in Great Lakes fish, and in major waterways and aquifers.

You're medicating whole regions, with this huge amount of flushed pharma.

I don't know that I'd pay someone to haul it off - crush it into dust and put it in with the coffee grounds. That adds another stage to decomposition - rotting or burning, and then the sun, before it's rinsed, more slowly, into the ground water.

You can have that.

Demerol is a no-roll, for me. Miserable experience...and I've been on it, legitimately.
