https://www.news.com.au/finance/money/tax/beer-drinkers-could-soon-pay-up-to-10-for-schooner-amid-massive-tax-hike/news-story/1d845d22c2bf606b8e61208148ac63b6
Ten bucks for a schooner...fifteen bucks for a pint...
Watch the punters grab a carton of their favourite piss for the weekend
and take it home...
More domestic violence...less turnover for pubs....
This will be the death knell for the pub and club trade...
Grog too expensive to drink...
Maybe brew your own...
Whats that song I keep thinking of....
"We're on the road to no-where..."
I wonder if the indigenous "Voice" will demand a discount
for their piss...
Lets talk about gay pride for a minit....
Or political corruption...

Re: The systems under which we live.
Alcohol has always been expensive in Australia and goes up twice a year along with cigarettes. I don't drink beer but spirits are already ridiculously expensive.

Not that I really give a stuff about the chinese real estate
ponzi scheme...but Oz is just as bad for different reasons...
Our ponzi scheme is propped up by immigrants coming to oz
and buying real estate...
It wont happen any more as immigrants wont come....because
they are smart enough to see that our property market is overvalued.
(Although the media attempt to tell us that immigrants arent coming
due to conjob restrictions...which I believe is bullshit...)
My understanding is that the chinese ponzi scheme is 100 times
worse than the US sub prime debacle of 2008...not that I care a jot...
The australian political leeches will attempt to keep the oz
real estate ponzi scheme going as long as possible...
BUT I believe its finished....
Done and dusted....

Re: The systems under which we live.
This country is in a diabolical mess...
There are so many labor shortages everywhere that the summit
(insert here talk fest) on employment due to be held soon is going to
discuss permitting pensioners to go back to work with no effect
on pensions...
Cant see too many pensioners picking fruit or laying bricks...
Maybe a few pensioners could become doctors, nurses, teachers,
traindrivers..
I know..maybe some pensioners could become politicians...
They couldnt do any worse than the current lot...could they...
But then again...theres no shortage of political leeches in this place
is there....
I certainly wont be going back to work...they can jam that....

Re: The systems under which we live.
Labor are lifting the 'skilled' immigration rate to allow in tens of thousands more immigrants to fill positions in aged care and building.
The aged care system is already over stocked with Indians and Filipinos and I wouldn't want Indians and Chinese building me anything.

Re: The systems under which we live.
Sad isnt it....
Back in the day I went to work...the missus looked after the kids and
baked scones....etc
Look at it to-day..
Kids are dumped at day care at 7am..picked up at 5 whilst both
mum and dad go to work all day otherwise they have to live
in a tent somewhere...
And now they are so desperate they want pensioners to go back to work...
It wasnt long ago that the grubberment told us that instead of 65
you now have to be 67 to get the pension...
That was to supposedly reduce the drain on grubberment finances...
NOW they want us to go BACK to work...
Slavery til death comes to mind....
