Re: Best looking cars
You can have them built to original specs or with a modern power plant, aerodynamic aids, and brakes. My favorite is a supercharged Ford 5.0l.
Superformance GT40 made in South Africa.

Re: Best looking cars
I had 2 of these given to me when I was 16 ( pretty messy but the bodies were in perfect shape)
I stripped every bit of chrome off the body and ran them without bumpers (the grill work I blacked out ) . Bondoed every clip hole that held any of the chrome trim and painted them with metalflake Midnight blue paint . Painted the undercarriage fire engine red ,including the wheel wells and raised the rear shackles 3" - I even had the wells lit up with blue lights before anyone thought of it
( the cops pulled me over the first night out and made me disconnect the lights because they said I was impersonating a fire dept vehicle ). Both only had straight sixes in them but with the weight I took off these steel death traps they could do burn outs . Regretfully I sold both of them when I was 18 for college money . Wish I had them back , it was a lot of fun doing the customising on them and even though today's thing is "restoring" I would have done the same thing again.

Re: Best looking cars
Hey, I'll play.
That was my third car...and I was 23 years old. Exactly like this, except a faded dark blue. Even the same Southern fade on the Di-Noc wood sticker stuff.
Bought it for $750 at a Houston buy-here-pay-here lot. Drove it back up to Ohoho; then drove it three more years. I had a lot of deferred maintenance to do on it, but once I'd gotten that done, it was a sweet runner.
Not fast, not powerful, but practical. And, IMHO, new, it was a slick shape. I used to sleep in the back on road trips, which, yes, I took. Even while dirt poor, I had the wanderlust.
Sold it for $400 after I got a good job. And THAT was a mistake, because a year later, the good job was gone, I had to sell my new car and look for another beater.

My parents had that exact car when I was about 6 or 7 minus the aftermarket wheels(or are those stock? I don't remember the wheels very well). I liked it because the back seat fit me so well. It had an 8 track tape player. I remember listening to Arlo Guthrie, Charlie Pride, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Carpenters, and Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass from that back seat.
