Why Japanese cars are superior to Western cars.

I am not having a go at anyone here. The same thing happened here and it was painfully obvious to see.
Read a few articles on it. The Japanese cars are superior for a number of reasons.
Reasons the ANY manager in Aust or US should have adopted.

1/ Japanese have a culture where everyone cooperates together to do the best.
Big CEOs will often walk among the blue collar workers. Talk to them.
Car parks for employees are not reserved. 'Best park for the biggest boss' is not how it works there.
Everyone is responsible for the best car. Management works with the worker.

1a/ In the West, management is wrestling against the workers. It is a unionised confrontational culture.



2/ The East improve the current model incrementally, constantly. This years camry is nothing like the camry 18 years ago.
It's genuinely a totally different car.
Every few years, one large part of the car is altered. Not all the car is redesigned and a new model created .

2a/ The West releases a totally new car every now and then. Amidst huge marketing costs and enormous new engineering designs. Basically, an untested model is released.


3/ The East fix their flaws ASAP. Every worker on the assembly has a red tag to pull if anything at all is not totally correct.
It stops the entire production line.

3a/ Stopping production line in the West is unthinkable. We were producing cars here with the same inherent faults for decades. Some engineering 'solutions' were coverups.

4/ The east gave the customer what they asked for . Initially the customer wanted reliable cars. Japanese cars were made reliable. With the 'incremental improvement' over decades, they got more reliable.
Then the customer wanted quiet and smooth. The NVH was improved, while the reliability remained.

4a/ Cars from the west are 'imagined' by marketing. Then engineering have to make a brand new car from the ground up.
Customers are told what they want - FAST. Which is not at all the top priority for the average customer.
