Yes. I mentioned that humans have been living in groups for a couple of hundreds of thousands of years. Those who stole from others in their group were put outside the group. Easy Peasy. Those who behaved, not stealing and not killing group members reproduced in greater numbers than those who were ostracized.

Humans have lived in groups for a couple of hundred thousand years. There is an advantage to being well-behaved. That advantage led to more births. No gods were required for us to learn to do what came naturally.

Most animals have found advantage in communities , most apes live in groups led by a dominant male, they have rules and structure

We are not a tournament species. Nor are we a monogamous species. Apes are tournament species. We learned to follow a few simple rules. No gods were required. Just time and breeding differences between those who understood and followed the rules and those who did not.

Perhaps God (the gods) simply allow you whatever you define it as, but then hold you to it, whatever that is?

It occurs to me that until recently, He has spent all time making the entire universe, and this whole morality thing might be new to Him -- something He created, all right, but without nuances that are left to man!
