Maryland Bridge Collapses
A 9,000ft bridge in Maryland has collapsed after being struck by a container ship.
Astonishing footage shows the moment the vessel plowed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, sending the colossal steel structure crashing into the Patapsco River, shortly before 1.30am Eastern.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties but there did appear to be traffic on the bridge at the time of the catastrophe.
The US Coast Guard and the Maryland Transportation Authority confirmed the crash but provided no further details.
A livestream showed the disaster unfolding, with the vessel plowing into a pile holding up the central part of the bridge. The road and steel arches immediately tumble into the water. There appeared to be an explosion on the container ship as the bridge smashed into the vessel.

It crashes down like it's made of matchsticks.

I'm hearing that the ship crew survived. I hope this wasn't a terrorist attack. This could cost us trillions. We need to find out what happened on that ship.

I don't blame you. Maryland is a Marxist cesspit.

Re: Maryland Bridge Collapses
In the Biden presser, Biden says the federal goverment will pay the full cost of rebuilding the bridge.
Translation:
The American taxpayers(you and me) will pay for Baltimore's new bridge.
Also , the president says the federal government will pay all costs for ongoing search and rescue.

Re: Maryland Bridge Collapses
I'd been following it, since early this morning.
I know this view is gonna be mocked. But it's what I see.
This was a simple accident. Maybe complex in its cause, but I don't see Putin's agents, or Ollie Snackbars, or false-flags here.
What I see was, essentially what we saw with the Titanic. That is, the avalanche of incidents that wouldn't have mattered individually, or would have been manageable...all at the worst-possible time.
The ship pulled out of its berth, assisted by two tugboats. It turned around in the ship channel and the tugs pulled free. That was routine.
What security cameras show, is the ship's lights going dark...not once, but twice. Now, on a modern ship, that's a major event. Helm steering motors are down. It appears the powerplant, the marine diesel, is also down. There was possibly no communication with engineering spaces. That's chaos; and there isn't the TIME to get the tugs back in position to grab hold. There isn't the method, to get the deck hands on the forecastle to drop the anchor, not immediately. It appeared they did, before it hit.
But the power is restored, two times - we don't know how. The second time, it's accompanied by a huge issue of black exhaust. My guess is, they were reversing the screws - Full Astern.
The stern of the ship seems to crab sideways to port a bit - as will happen with a single-screw vessel, large or small, when this is done. It's normal, and here it's disastrous. The ship has momentum and the churning froth in back throws it sideways. Meantime in that froth, the rudder is useless.
The ship probably has bow and side thrusters, but those are electrically driven. It might have been that an attempt to use them, was connected to the power failure. We don't know, not yet.
But with the propulsion creating chaos, with the ship's trajectory continuing but shifting...they hit the pylon.
This bridge was a cantilevered truss bridge, and yes, knocking just one pylon out is going to bring the whole bridge down. Failure on failure. It's not like the smaller beam bridges used as overpasses, where if one abutment fails or is knocked out of place, the rest of the bridge stays up, or all of it. This is longer, and less able to stand violent strikes or incidents.
So...the next step is forensic analysis of the bridge, and detailed analysis of the ship's event recorders. The ship's master, Ukrainian or not, probably did nothing wrong, unless the electrical problems had been noted before.
