Potato Snacks

I don't know what you would call these.  They came to me in a dream last night.

I took 2 bags of potato flakes(instant mashed potatoes) amd prepared them. After cooling slightly,  i put them 8n my jerky gun with the flat nozzle and made some flats 9n the dehydrator trays.

So yes, i took dried potatoes and reconstituted them to dry them again. Lolol
It's the first time ive tried this,  so we'll see.

I only have 3 trays of them, so they are drying pretty quickly. I sampled one and its very good. I think they will be better when they get crispy.

Next time I'll add some cayenne pepper to some. I thought about some fresh green onions(shallot tops). Maybe some dry bacon bits. Don't really want to add anything with fat.

Anybody got any suggestions?

I didn't lay them out very thin but i could go thinner. Wanted some meat but gotta see how much they draw up first.

I can tell you this. They are plenty salty enough. But i have no control over that unless i make fresh mashed potatoes.

They came out perfect! They shrank up just right both crunchy amd chewy!

They got super crispy after they cooled all the way!

If a had a few beers in the house,  i munch them all up!
