I love my spuds and they are easy to grow, This is a good method as when planting them in the ground you need to rotate them due to a build up of disease, You can treat the soil with a Condy's crystals solution before planting to sterilise the patch

Re: Potato Towers
Looks like a good city-farmer method.
Unfortunately, I can't eat them anymore. I love them...all ways prepared...but I can't.
Potatoes are worse for diabetics than candy.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommend eating starchy vegetables, such as potatoes, as part of a healthful diet. Starch is a complex carbohydrate that takes the body longer to break down than simple sugars.

""Salivary amylase is a glucose-polymer cleavage enzyme that is produced by the salivary glands. It comprises a small portion of the total amylase excreted, ""
Your saliva has enzymes that convert starches to sugars . this takes time

Re: Potato Towers
We just finished up last year's red 'taters. Odd thing happened this year. Toward the end, they turned so sweet it was near obnoxiously so. Last time, my husband thought I put sugar in them.

Well, this is the first time it's happened, and we've had 'taters last a lot longer than these. Yeah, odd.HawkTheSlayer wrote:Cold.2cent wrote:We just finished up last year's red 'taters.
