Going Simple
I cubed up some pickled pork and have it boiling.
All i added was a bay leaf and a cap full of liquid crab boil .
When its almost tender, I'll add my peeled, and thick cubed potatoes.
I love boiled potatoes with pickled pork, or salt meat, pigtails, smoked pig tails.
Need some meat with a flavor(fat), although pickled pork and salt pork are very lean here.
I do not like that salt pork in the small packages known as "streak-a-lean". It's just a salted pork belly with little meat. God made dat fa cooking cracklin'! Lol
Our salt pork comes from slices of pork shoulder and is excellent..
When you use salt pork, as opposed to pickled pork , you have to boil the meat and change the water at least one time before adding it to beans or potatoes, or soups, etc. Boiling it twice and changing the water is good insurance.
You can boil pickled pork and change the water if you like.
Usually, it's ok without for me.
Potatoes are in.

Simple is good.
last night was pumpkin, carrots and capsicum in the air fryer.
Broccoilli and beans in steamer. 3 eggs in frying pan.

Re: Going Simple
Tonight i sliced three, small, yellow squash and sauteed them until soft in butter, soy sauce, and cajun seasoning.
I went light on the soy sauce and seasoning.

Re: Going Simple
Since I have all kinds of digestive issues...I'll have a banana for breakfast, with coffee.
Very simple.
Then, I'll have breakfast for lunch. Two eggs, cheese and bacon or sausage. Slow cooked in a small no-stick saucepan, covered. Again, very simple.
Dinner varies by the time I have, but I like to keep it simple, also.
Now that I'm old, poor and overweight...I have a motto. FOOD IS UTILITY, NOT ENTERTAINMENT.

If you have digestive problems, why ever have coffee, bacon or sausages ?
Cheese is not so good either, I assume it was just a small bit
