Former Japanese PM, Shinzo Abe, Assassinated

TOKYO — Former Japanese leader Shinzo Abe died Friday after being shot at a campaign event, an attack that shocked a country where gun violence is virtually nonexistent.

Abe, 67, was a towering political presence even after he stepped down as Japan’s longest-serving prime minister, and he was campaigning ahead of elections scheduled for Sunday.

He had just begun a speech in,  the western city of Nara, near Kyoto, when gunfire was heard around 11:30 a.m. local time (10:30 p.m. Thursday ET).

Oops. Pardon me. Appears we were typing at the same time. But speaking of making mistakes; 4 women from 4 separate countries didn't notice that they got the time difference wrong. It would have been 1:30 in Japan, not 10:30.
Likely a typo, but doesn't change the fact that they got it wrong.

They don't even put timelines and pinpoint cities. There happen to be a number of cities named Richmond ALL OVER THE US. That is BASIC journalism Remedial 101

Not sure why we'd need a timeline.  But the city where Abe was shot is pinpointed in the OP article.

The U.S. ambassador to Japan, Rahm Emanuel, said that he was shocked and saddened by news of the shooting.

My turn:  Why do Dems get rewarded for wrong-doing?

Oh.  Here's a timeline of sorts.  I'm sure you'll love it.

Abe was rushed to Nara Medical University Hospital after suffering cardio and pulmonary arrest. The hospital announced his death shortly after 5 a.m. ET.

Dr. Hidetada Fukushima, a professor of emergency medicine at the hospital, said Abe had two gunshot wounds and no vital signs when he arrived less than an hour after the shooting. Life-saving measures including blood transfusions were unsuccessful, he said, and Abe was pronounced dead at 4:03 a.m. ET.

Which is it?  

And did you catch them sounding like they were bragging on it taking "less than an HOUR" to get to the hospital!  No wonder the guy is dead.  Why the blood transfusions is anyone's guess.

Cardiopulmonary arrest means you are dead. Rushing him anywhere was not going to save him.
