First off, he sounds a little nervous about getting elected Speaker. Certainly not my first choice, but I think he'll easily win. Nonetheless, in case you hadn't heard his list of priorities, here 'tis:

“Great question – the first thing we have to do is elect our Speaker. We can’t do anything until we elect that Speaker,” he said. “And if you watch, the White House is actually pushing back on our investigations, saying we’re not going to give you anything till you get this solved. So, we need to be able to move forward with that.”

“Then, on the very first day, the first thing we’re going to do is repeal the 87,000 IRS agents,” McCarthy continued. “Another reason why the Democrats are mad at me, I think – government should be here to help you, not to go after you, then we’re going to secure our border. You’ve got to secure this border, the millions of people coming across, the fentanyl that’s killing our children. We need to work on our economy. That means making us energy-independent. We need to hold this government accountable. Where’s the origin of COVID began? Find out what this Biden family had done in the process. Make sure the FBI is not going after Americans but actually going after crime. We’ve got so much work behind us, and we need to start on the very first day.

Pretty much what he's been spouting since last Sept. Even if he does make a sincere effort to follow through, just how far do you think he'll get with things like energy independence?
Holding the government accountable? lol
Get a grip on the FIB?

Plus, that comment, "We've got so much work behind us." What's up w/that? Most people say, "...ahead of us."

Gotta laugh at myself. Right after asking about the status of McCarthy, Matt Gaetz comes out saying what I consider to be the real leadership in the House think, and likely, the bulk of the general public, as well.

Reps. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., Matt Rosendale, R-Mont., and Bob Good, R-Va., have already vowed to oppose McCarthy's bid.

He also faces potential opposition from GOP Reps. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Paul Gosar of Arizona, Chip Roy of Texas, Dan Bishop of North Carolina, Andy Harris of Maryland and Andrew Clyde of Georgia, along with Rep.-elects Andy Ogles of Tennessee, Anna Paulina Luna of Florida and Eli Crane of Arizona, among others.

McCarthy told Fox News Digital he is confident that his concessions have convinced some lawmakers who were on the fence.

"Every single Republican in Congress knows that Kevin does not actually believe anything. He has no ideology," Gaetz wrote in a December op-ed for the Daily Caller. "Some conservatives are using this fact to convince themselves that he is the right leader for the moment, as McCarthy is so weak he’ll promise anything to anyone."

The RINOs have allowed the Democrats to do whatever they have wanted, including installing a woketard President. Do I think that it will make ANY difference who is put in as speaker? No.

The Democrats have already broken numerous laws with impunity. Biden has broken about every law as well as taken kickbacks, bribes and has compromised just about every governmental agency against the law abiding citizens with impunity. Biden has also allowed our country to be invaded by illegals and again, flaunted and ignored laws with impunity.

Along with that Biden is trying to force his will on U.S. citizens by gutting the economy, increasing inflation and destroying the fossil fuel industry. The military is "woke", the country is a joke and the government is broke!

My faith in politicians and government to get things done is at a an all-time low.

It's a no win situation.
If government handles the job, it's full of waste and graft.

If government privatizes the job, it's less wasteful but even more money goes into politician's pocket through bribes and favoritism.

The Federal Government and its spending needs to be reduced by 75% and 90% of government agencies need to be abolished.
