It was actually on Boston Legal.  I LOVED that show and started watching it again from the beginning last night.

He stole an old lady's orange wallet out of her handbag and threatened her and chased her, which he vehemently denied, BUT someone took pics proving it was him.  

So then he demands to testify on the stand and claimed he thought it was his orange wallet (which he'd bought and produced) and when he realized it was the wrong orange wallet he chased her to give it back.  He got off LOL.
