Indigenous NRLW player Caitlin Moran banned for one game for comment about Queen’s death

The NRL has come down hard on Newcastle NRLW player Caitlin Moran, banning her for a social media post following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Moran created headlines last Friday over the post, in which she referred to the deceased queen as a “dumb dog”.

The post was deleted after around eight hours, but screenshots of it have been viewed by the NRL’s integrity unit.

The NRL announced on Tuesday they planned on banning Moran for one match, which equates to one-fifth of the NRLW season.

The former Jillaroos back becomes the first women’s player to be banned for an off-field matter in the NRLW’s history.

The Indigenous Knights star also received a suspended fine of 25% and will be forced to undergo education and training around the appropriate use of social media.

I'm not a royalist but people like her really need to learn when to keep their traps shut and when to open them, and as for her thinking she is indigenous just because her great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandmother/grandfather was indigenous does not make her one, if she was a quarter or half than fair enough, I have one percent italian in me do think I go around calling myslef italian no. what a joke.

her comments were and are indefensible, unacceptable, unforgiveable and are a direct pointer as to what the sound of the voice to parliament will be like......

Moran's churlish comments about the gracious Queen so soon after her passing is an example as to why there should not be a racist indigenous 'voice' to the Australian parliament.

^^^^ I'm in their camp.  Special treatment because she's an Abo but she looks about as indigenous as an albino.  Banned for one game and a fine she doesn't even have to pay?  Apparently there's no proof that she even has a drop of Abo blood.   Keep your politics OUT OF SPORT period!

A few years ago a 13 year old female football fan was bullied, lambasted and abused endlessly by both the player and the media for calling an arrogant Abo player an ape.   The idiot Abo player even tried to cash in and wrote a book about it.

I hate to think what will happen if this parliamentarian "voice" is passed.

My understanding was the Indians called them buffalo soldiers because they had tight frizzy tufts of hair like the buffalo
