INTRO:

On March 27, 2022, during a live television broadcast of the 94th Academy Awards, popular actor Will Smith hijacked the ceremony by storming onstage to slap comedian Chris Rock for a tame joke about Smith’s actress wife, Jada Pinkett. Then Smith returned to his seat and, in an epic explosion of Hollywood narcissism, spewed profane threats at Rock, which were broadcast around the world, sucking all the air out of an event designed to showcase the achievements of his fellow artists. Some speculated that Smith’s meltdown stemmed not from a chivalrous defense of his wife’s honor, but from the pent-up humiliation of being wedded to a woman who publicly insisted on having an “open marriage.”[1]

Instead of being ejected from the event and arrested for the assault, Smith was given the Best Actor Oscar moments later and received a standing ovation from the celebrity colleagues whose showcase he had just hijacked and trashed. As composer Oscar Levant once quipped in regard to Hollywood’s moral spinelessness: “Beneath the Tinsel of Tinseltown is … tinsel.”

Not long after Smith’s shocking performance, the world tuned-in to the pathetic spectacle of actor Johnny Depp’s anti-defamation lawsuit against his abusive ex-wife, actress Amber Heard. Trial testimony included such sordid revelations as: rampant drug and alcohol abuse (Heard reportedly drank two $500 bottles of wine a night, while Depp himself regularly spent as much as $30,000 a month on wine); mutual accusations of physical abuse; and the allegation that Heard defecated on Depp’s side of the bed when he tried to break up with her.

These are just two of the most recent examples of the moral bankruptcy of the Hollywood elites. For all their glamorous parading on red carpets, and their self-righteous posturing about social justice, Tinseltown is teeming with permanently damaged children and spoiled brats.

These are the same poseurs who powered the #MeToo movement but still defended and even honored the depraved director Roman Polanski, who drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl in 1977[2] – prefiguring the exploits of “America’s Dad,” comedian and TV star Bill Cosby.[3] They turned a blind eye to disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein’s sexual assaults[4] while he was making them stars until the avalanche of accusations rendered him unable to boost their careers anymore. At the same time they were engaged in moral preening, they were fighting tooth-and-nail to deny one of Hollywood’s greatest directors, Elia Kazan (On the Waterfront, East of Eden), an honorary Oscar because he was anti-Communist and they weren’t.[5]

Recently, audiences on both the Right and the Left have been turned off by Hollywood’s hypocrisy, condescension, and “woke” derangements. Studio executives now have to look to China for profits, having been forced to rely less on the domestic box office. The streaming giant Netflix is hemorrhaging subscribers. Hollywood awards shows, which stars have turned into personal soapboxes for political dementia, are plunging to record lows in viewership year after year.

Fearless British comedian Ricky Gervais called out the Hollywood elites for their hypocrisy and fading significance when he hosted the 2020 Golden Globes Awards show. He savaged them over their predatory friends such as Weinstein and the late child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The celebrities squirmed in their seats as Gervais told them not to bother giving political speeches when receiving their “little awards:” “You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything,” he said. “You know nothing about the real world.”[6]

This was a brutal dose of inarguable truth. And yet the mainstream media regularly grants a megaphone to these virtue-signaling narcissists, who live in the most thought-conformist bubble of any demographic in the country. Filmmaker Rob Reiner, for example, aptly known as “Meathead” in his role in the 1970s sitcom All in the Family, has no expertise or insight as a political commentator beyond a rabid hatred of his political opponents. But he appears frequently on the Trump-phobic, racist MSNBC network to deliver his deranged diatribes.

When Donald Trump stunned Hollywood by denying their conspiracy-mongering icon Hillary Clinton a White House win in 2016, he triggered a tsunami of celebrity bile like Reiner’s. For the next four years and beyond, Hollywood elitists vented their rage at Trump, at the 63 million Americans who voted for him in 2016, and the 74 million who voted for him in 2020, smearing them as “white supremacists” and “deplorables.”

Given the media power of these celebrity elitists, an antidote exists in reprising the vile opinions of the 20 worst of these hate-mongers, and including them in one foul list. Below are the bottom five celebrities on the list, with the others to follow in three more future posts of five more celebrities each.

20. Jane Fonda

“If you understood what communism was,
you would hope, you would pray on your knees
that we would someday become communist.”

Jane Fonda, 84, is and always has been one of Hollywood’s most shallow, cringeworthy luminaries. Born into Hollywood royalty, the daughter of Henry Fonda has had a long and highly successful acting career, with seven Academy Award nominations and two Oscar wins for such films as Cat Ballou, Barefoot in the Park, Klute, Coming Home, and On Golden Pond – not to mention her lucrative side gig as the star and producer of exercise videos and books.

Despite her wealth and privilege, as early as 1970 she was telling American college students: “If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would someday become communist... I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism.”[7]

In the summer of 1972 Fonda made her infamous trip to North Vietnam, a communist dictatorship with whom the United States was at war. The purpose of her trip was to volunteer herself as an enemy propaganda prop, denying that American POWs were being tortured – they were – and posing for pictures on an anti-aircraft gun that had been used to shoot down American planes (see photo above). To ice this treasonous cake, she made radio addresses urging South Vietnamese soldiers to desert and warning American troops that they were participating in war crimes.[8]

Declaring herself “a revolutionary woman” whose biggest regret was “I never got to fuck Che Guevara,”[9] Fonda continued over the decades to openly support every far-left cause from abortion on demand and gun control to Black Lives Matter and environmentalism. She married the Machiavellian, anti-American leader of the left, Tom Hayden, who advocated forming armed “liberated zones” in the United States to achieve the Communist fantasy she had promoted. Together they led the street radicals who had attempted to burn America down in the Sixties into the Democrat Party during the 1972 McGovern campaign, which set the stage for its transformation into an anti-American, totalitarian enemy within.

In 2016, Fonda was one of dozens of celebrities and activists who campaigned against soon-to-be-President Donald Trump, claiming that he represented

a grave threat to democracy, freedom, human rights, equality, and the welfare of the country. We have witnessed Trump inciting hatred against Muslims, immigrants, women, the disabled. We have seen him evidencing dangerous tendencies that threaten the bedrock of democracy: unleashing a lynch mob mentality against protesters, calling for the expulsion of Muslims from the country, bullying, and fear-mongering. History has shown us what happens when people refuse to stand against hate-filled leaders.[10]

Asked in an October 2017 interview if she was proud of her country, she immediately answered “No,” clarifying that she was “proud of the resistance. I’m proud of the people who are turning out in unprecedented numbers and continue over and over and over again to protest what Trump is doing.”[11]

In a November 2018 interview with Variety, Fonda warned that Trump was a Nazi on the rise: “If you have read anything about the rise of the Third Reich and Adolf Hitler you will see the parallels.”[12] Hysterical nonsense, but equating President Trump with history’s most notorious monster was the narrative the Left decided to run with.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama, who became “proud” of her country only when her husband was elected president, praised Fonda as a “politically savvy role model.”[13] The purported comedian Stephen Colbert gushed that she is “an icon of her generation.”[14] Michael Moore honored her with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her activism.[15] Ever the actress, she had scripted her life as a kitsch melodrama, in which she played a “revolutionary” who couldn’t tell the difference between a Trotskyite and an Uzbek.

19. Sean Penn

Actor Sean Penn, 61, has been a longtime radical activist in a variety of causes, often taking roles that were vehicles for his radical agendas. He has also buddied up with the most sadistic communist tyrants of the Western hemisphere. After Raul Castro replaced his brother Fidel as president of Cuba, Penn, who had previously met Fidel on at least one occasion, traveled to Havana for a friendly visit.[16]

He developed an even closer relationship with the late Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chávez, whom he called “a warm and friendly man with a robust sense of humor (who daily risks his own life for his country in ways Dick Cheney could never imagine). To treat such a man coldly is akin to spitting on him. As a country we’ve done enough of that.”[17] He subsequently suggested that anyone who referred to Chavez as a dictator should be incarcerated[18] – an indication that the dictator’s views along with his charisma had rubbed off on him.

As Chavez battled cancer in December 2012, Penn hailed him as “one of the most important forces we’ve had on this planet.”[19] After the dictator’s death a few months later, Penn wept and said, “Today the people of the United States lost a friend it never knew it had. And poor people around the world lost a champion. I lost a friend I was blessed to have.”[20]

That “friend” of the United States was a man who supported and fomented anti-American terrorism around the world, from his own Cuba-trained private militia to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) to al Qaeda. He had close ties with Cuba, China and Russia, and “cooperation agreements” with Libya, Iraq, and Iran. Indeed, he was awarded Iran’s Islamic Republic Medal for supporting Tehran’s ambition to develop its nuclear program. “Let’s save the human race, let’s finish off the U.S. empire,” Chavez said on that occasion.[21] As a “champion” of the poor people of the world, Chavez’s socialist policies steered the oil-wealthy nation of Venezuela into severe economic crisis, with food shortages[22] eventually leading to such desperate hunger that people hunted stray dogs in the streets. Chavez, by contrast, died with an estimated personal net worth of between $1 billion and $2 billion.[23] This is the “friend” Sean Penn was “blessed to have.”

By contrast, Penn has denounced a number of conservatives such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Dick Cheney and Bill O’Reilly, claiming without evidence that they “effectively hate the principles upon which we [the United States] were founded.”[24] In an October 2011 appearance on CNN, Penn characterized the Tea Party movement for limited government as a racist menace whose objective was to “lynch” then-President Obama, dubbing it “The ‘Get the N-Word Out of the White House Party.’”[25]

In an op-ed for Time in 2018, he blasted Trump as an “enemy of mankind” and “enemy of the state.”[26] In 2020 he labeled Republicans “the party of Putin.”[27] The following year at the Cannes Film Festival he told the audience the Trump administration’s coronavirus policies were no better than “gunning down” vulnerable communities “from a turret at the White House.”[28]

In a January 13, 2021 tweet, Penn likened former President Trump to the dead terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden, and Trump’s supporters to the Islamic terror group al-Qaeda.[29] That same month he also urged Trump to swallow cyanide capsules.[30]

As for his critics, Penn once told CBS News’ Sunday Morning that he hopes they “die screaming of rectal cancer.”[31]

5. Jim Carrey

Rubber-faced comedic actor Jim Carrey, 60, has been a star ever since the early ‘90s, going from the sketch comedy TV series In Living Color to starring roles in films such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Liar Liar, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But as his career peaked and waned, he remained relevant, as many other actors have, by becoming a virtuoso of self-righteous venom aimed at Republicans who disagree with him.

In November 2017 he tweeted, “The GOP and WH have become sinister conclaves of souless traitors, liars and thieves – a gangrene we must remove so democracy can live.”[1] A few months later he tweeted about President Trump, “If we allow this one-man Gomorrah and his corrupt Republican congress to continue alienating the world we are headed for suffering beyond all imagination.”[2]

In a November 2018 interview he declared about the Trump administration, “These are not people you can deal with. You cannot be bipartisan with a criminal. A rapist needs to be removed, not negotiated with. These people are raping our system, they’re destroying it right in front of us. These people have to be removed from our system because they’re bad for us.”[3] Bye-bye, two-party democracy. Hello, one-party state.

Carrey took his anti-GOP derangement to a whole other level by painting garish, crude images demonizing Trump and other conservative figures, and posting them to Twitter. He painted Melania Trump as a brainwashed robot,[4] Senator Ted Cruz as a vampire,[5] Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh forcing himself on a woman,[6] Trump sons Eric and Donald Jr. gruesomely gored by elephant tusks,[7] and psychotic portraits of Vice President Mike Pence[8] and Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.[9]

But Trump, of course, was the primary target of Carrey’s demented visions. In 2017 he scrawled a lewd drawing of Trump kissing Putin’s bare butt.[10] He tweeted another infantile cartoon drawing of Trump with bloodied fangs, writing that the President would “EAT A BABY” onstage at an upcoming rally “to the delight of his zombie base.”[11]

In June 2018 he depicted Trump as an angry Roman soldier crucifying Jesus Christ.[12] In August he painted Trump being burned at the stake as a witch.[13] He also painted Trump dangling from a flagpole over a bustling cityscape, trussed in a straightjacket, his ankles tied to the pole with an American flag. Caption: “Can the Great Spewdini spew enough lies to escape the straight-jacket of his un-Presidented criminality?”[14] Funny you should mention a straightjacket, Jim.

4. Rosie O’Donnell

Former comedienne Rosie O’Donnell, 60, actress in films such as A League of Their Own (1992) and host of her own daytime talk show, is a longtime political activist with a long-running feud with Trump.

In 2015, in response to what she called a war on women being waged by Trump and others, Rosie went on SirusXM radio to announce, “I’d like to take my period blood that I no longer have and write, ‘You’re all a–holes,’” before saying, “I’d like to smear it all over some people’s faces.”[15] As Donald Trump might say: “Sad.”

In January 2017, O’Donnell called for martial law to delay Trump’s inauguration. When the military didn’t take her up on that, she fretted in a subsequent interview with W Magazine, “I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through [his presidency] and whether the nation will be able to live through it and survive.”[16] Actually Rosie, the nation did pretty well under Trump, and a damn sight better than your guy.

During an October 2017 appearance on MSNBC, O’Donnell called Trump “evil” and claimed that on election night 2016, “I actually got physically sick.”[17] Onstage at the Beacon Theatre in New York City prior to the election, she told the audience that she was “depressed because I fucking hate that orange piece of shit.” She referred to him as “a shit-stain with a tinge of orange,” and at one point grabbed her crotch before exclaiming, “Eat me, Donald.” She also told the audience that, after being advised not to focus on Trump, she told her therapist, “I would rather give birth to a flaming iguana while taking a shit. “I hate him. I hate him.”[18] We have a problem Houston, a psychological problem. But the same could be said about everybody else on this list.

In 2017, she attacked members of Trump’s administration as – that’s right – Nazis, tweeting that “if u stand next 2 and work with adolf trump – yes u fucking are a nazi.”[19] She added in August 2018 that Trump is “a horrible, horrible human with no soul. He has a very serious mental disorder.”[20] In 2020, as the pandemic raged, O’Donnell predictably blamed Trump, tweeting that had he become “the leading cause of death in the United States.”[21]

In 2018 she began selling anti-Trump artwork on the crafts website Etsy as a means of expressing her “sadness, rage, and disappointment” with the president. Her first piece featured a cartoon caricature of Trump’s head alongside the words, “Rapist,” “Cheat,” “Liar,” “Racist,” “Conman,” and “Asshole.”[22]

In a July 2019 interview, O’Donnell said she believed Trump had an incestuous relationship with his daughter Ivanka and possibly with his sons. “I think he’s been doing bad things with her for a very long time,” she said. “There’s a creepy incest feel that is very prevalent amongst Donald Trump and his children, at least his daughter. Very creepy.”[23] Not so creepy as the person who thought up these malicious attacks.

3. Rob Reiner

After starring as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family from 1971-78, Reiner turned his attention to producing and directing such films as This is Spinal Tap, A Few Good Men, and The American President.

A major donor to left-wing candidates and causes, Reiner explained once that “Hollywood has always been way out in front [politically], and that’s why we [entertainers] do what we do”[24] – i.e., rant about political subjects frequently and hysterically.

As early as 2016, when Trump was still a candidate, Reiner told CNN that “it’s no secret there are a lot of white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups that support him. Those people have a violent nature, and a violent streak, and they want to redress things with violence.”[25] Curiously, Reiner had nothing to say about the violent nature of Antifa thugs and Black Lives Matter rioters who “sought to redress things” during the Trump presidency by burning, looting and spreading mayhem across the nation.

“How much longer do we have to put up with a mentally ill sociopath?”[26] Reiner cried about Trump in December 2018. Later that month he added, “The President of the United States is a sick criminal. New Year’s resolution: Get him the fuck out of the White House.”[27] Two days later, he tweeted: “[W]hen the dust settles, we will be rid of this lying malignant narcissistic cancer. Happy New Year.”[28]

During the 2020 election campaign, Reiner ranted that Trump was “Jefferson Davis” in America’s “modern-day civil war,”[29] repeating the slander in January 2021 by labeling Trump as “the new leader of the Confederacy.”[30] He added that “the Republican Party is out of its collective fucking mind. And an accomplice to murder,”[31] referring to Joe Biden’s evil claim that Trump had murdered every COVID-19 victim.

In April 2022, still spooked by the popularity and influence of the ex-president, Reiner said on the racist MSNBC network, “[Trump] controls every aspect of what he would now call the Republican Party. I don’t know what it is. This is an autocratic movement. So, if you’re voting for Republicans, you’re not voting for Republicans. You’re voting for autocracy. You’re voting for the man who tried to overthrow the government.”[32] Spying on a presidential candidate and framing him as a traitor, impeaching a president twice on a partisan basis, inventing an “insurrection” to smear a political opponent, conducting massive election fraud in a presidential election – that’s trying to overthrow the government Rob, and you supported all of that.

2. Cher

A former singer, actress, and widow of performing partner and late Republican congressman Sonny Bono, the 76-year-old Cher is now known mostly for her creatively illiterate, emoji-stuffed, ALL-CAPS social media outbursts like this one, in the wake of Republican Glenn Youngkin’s 2021 defeat of radical Terry McAuliffe for Virginia Governor: “IF GOP TAKE POWER IT’LL “TOTAL POWER”.ITS “WHITE’S”ONLY CLUB,& BLM,LGBT,JEWS,ASIANS,MINORITIES,R IN [German flag] STYLE PERIL”[33]

A longtime Democrat supporter who names Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem, and the late Malcolm X among her heroes,[34] Cher joins the chorus of Hollywood shrews smearing Republicans as racist, sexist, heartless Nazis: “If you’re black in this country, if you’re a woman in this country, if you are any minority in this country at all, what could possibly possess you to vote Republican?” she once asked.[35] On another occasion she reiterated her befuddlement: “I just don’t understand how anyone would want to be a Republican. If you’re poor, if you’re any kind of minority — gay, black, Latino, anything…. If you’re not a rich born-again-Christian, I don’t get it.”[36] For starters, try comparing the respect Republicans afford Democrat First Ladies with the disgusting attacks your Hollywood comrades have leveled against Melania Trump.

At a 2016 fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in Cape Cod, Cher compared GOP nominee Trump to mass-murdering Joseph Stalin and Hitler, saying, “Do you remember ‘Fun With Dick and Jane’? It’s like racist Fun With Dick and Jane! ‘We’re going to build walls!’ He doesn’t mean: ‘We’re going to make America great again.’ He means: ‘We’re going to make America straight and white.'”[37] Sure, that’s why Trump appointed a gay man to be Director of National Intelligence. And why he appointed a black man to be his Surgeon General, not only the nation’s physician but his White House physician to protect his health in the midst of a pandemic.

By 2018 Cher was describing Trump as a “a Cancer Ravaging Our Nation” and “a Malignant Tumor Eating Its Way Through Our Constitution,Our Honor,& Our Standing In The [world].”[38] She also slammed the president as a “Lying Con Man,Criminal,Conspirator, Collusionist,Traitor,Imbecile, Adulterer,Hypocritical Narcissist,Lecher,Coward, Charlatan,Bully,Decaying, Sociopath,Draft Dodger, Despot,& Loathsome RACIST RAT WHO EVEN STOLE AN ELECTION,WITH PUTINS HELP.”[39] Apparently she missed the results of the $35 million Mueller investigation which found no evidence to support this fraudulent and treasonous claim.

Nothing could deter Cher from her self-appointed crusade to libel, smear and assassinate the character of the presidential choice of 74 million Americans. She tweeted that she hoped there is a special hell for a “LIAR, WHITE NATIONALIST, RACIST,TRAITOR,WHO’D HAVE PHOTO OP WITH HITLER,IF HE THOUGHT IT WOULD RALLY HIS BASE.”[40]

Cher relentlessly complained that Trump would bring death and destruction to minority communities. In June 2019, she tweeted to the LGBT community, “IF trump WINS 2020,HE’LL BE 1ST 2 STRIP U OF’ALL’PROTECTIONS,& PUT U IN INTERNMENT CAMPSHE’LL PUT HISON UR SHOULDER & STICK HISIN UR BACK.WAKE UP & SMELL PAIN,HIS BASE WANTS U GONE.”[41]

A couple of months later, Cher wailed incoherently on Twitter, “WILL HIS REIGN OF TERROR EVER END?HOW MUCH ANGUISH IS HE CAPABLE OF INFLICTING ON? WISH HE’D VANISH IN PUFF OF,OR PUT IN 1 OF HIS INTERNMENT CAMPS.”[42] Internment camps?

1. Robert De Niro

And the Number One Dumbest Hollywood Hatemonger Award goes to (drum roll) one of our most highly-regarded actors, Robert De Niro, 78. The star of Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, and scores more films, longtime Democrat Party supporter De Niro is finishing his career less well-known for his performances than for his uncontrollable public outbursts of Trump-deranged profanity – once again displaying the occupational hazard of making your fame and fortune by inhabiting other people minds and depending on other people’s words.

Just prior to Trump’s 2016 election victory stunner over Hillary Clinton, the inarticulate De Niro dismissed the Republican presidential nominee as “blatantly stupid. He’s a punk, he’s a dog, he’s a pig, he’s a con, he’s a bullshit artist, a mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, doesn’t do his homework, doesn’t care, thinks he’s gaming society, doesn’t pay his taxes. He’s an embarrassment to this country.”[43] It was like a perfect script for one of the mafia goons he has so successfully played. And to punctuate it, De Niro concluded: “I’d like to punch him in the face.”

“I feel like I did after 9/11,” DeNiro said when Trump won.[44] And as if it was one of his prized cinema roles, he couldn’t let it go. While presenting actress Meryl Streep with a Best Actress award at the National Board of Review’s annual Awards Gala on January 9, 2018, De Niro seemed, like Will Smith, less interested in paying tribute to a fellow actor than in ranting about the villain Trump, whom he called a “fucking fool,” a “fucking idiot,” the “baby-in-chief,” and the “jerkoff-in-chief,”[45] while eclipsing Streep on her day in the sun.

Presenting an award onstage at the Tonys ceremony five months later, De Niro’s frustration and hatred boiled over again and he raved “Fuck Trump” multiple times, as though the repetition made him articulate. “I’m going to say one thing,” he declared to a credulous audience of entertainment professionals who cheered in response: “Fuck Trump! It’s no longer ‘Down with Trump.’ It’s ‘Fuck Trump!’”[46] It was the Fonda fantasy: DeNiro was no longer just an actor reading other people’s lines. He was an activist, a revolutionary leading a movement to save the country.

That same month he attended a New York ceremony for high-school student recipients of the Rosemary Breslin “American Writer Award.” As though he were the Surgeon General and the attendees were member of Congress, he told them that Trump was “psychologically incapable of discharging duties of the President of the United States.” And he was just getting started. De Niro went on to tell the high schooler winners, their parents, and the assembled supporters of the Breslin “American Writer Award” that Trump was “a congenital liar, a mean-spirited, soulless, amoral, abusive con-artist son-of-a-bitch.” And to top it off, he told them “Fuck Donald Trump.”[47]

Throughout Trump’s White House tenure, De Niro made untold numbers of appearances on leftist media outlets such as MSNBC where he was given a platform to hurl smears and profanities at the president like “white supremacist,”[48] “nasty little bitch” and “petulant little punk,”[49] “lowlife,”[50] “criminal,”[51] “dangerous buffoon-in-chief,”[52] and, of course, a “dictator” and American Hitler.[53] On a 2019 episode of Michael Moore’s podcast, De Niro exclaimed, “I’d like to see a bag of shit right in his face. Hit him right in the face like that, and let the picture go all over the world.”[54]

As repellent as this parade of profanity is, it is also revealing about America’s showbiz elites. For all their calls for “tolerance” and “inclusion,” they are foul-mouthed bullies, seething with irrational hatred for those who disagree with them. They are filled with self-loathing anti-white racism, insulated from reality, desperate to be validated by their celebrity peers, and devoid of anything substantial to say about the issues they claim to be concerned about.
