Questionnaire for New Doc Visit
Okay, so I got referred to a neurosurgeon. FourTEEN pages of what is in your life; some of which, none of their business. Not health related. But, at least they didn't ask how much money was under my mattress, nor ammo stored in my fridge.
This questionnaire seemed to be very centered on finding out why you have pain. Well duh, they're neurosurgeons, and ought to be. But!
Oh. Another thing. You MUST have Google Chrome or Firefox, in order to have any communication from that office.
I have NEITHER, and they've got news coming. Yes, I realize that a neurosurgeon takes a whop full of school work, and has his right to make any demand he wants. But I want them to know that, as a patient, I ain't signing the above. I have qualifications and demands, too.
Shock-a-roo.
Are any of ya who have to see a doc, running into this height of insanity? I'm thinking twice on just how bad I need this doc. Urrr.....
You, too??

I'm not real keen on signing that page, but a previous page says that, if you don't, they could very well turn you away as a patient. Yeah, they've got the right to do that, but, as much as I may need a doctor, I'm hard time wary on seeing this one."This must be completed or all authorizations.
I hereby authorize the use or disclosure of my individually identifiable health information as described below.
I understand that this authorization is voluntary.
I understand that my medical record MAY contain reference to, or the results of:
HIV antibody (AIDS) testing, testing or treatment for communicable diseases, treatment for mental health problems, testing, or treatment of drug/alcohol use or abuse..

I agree. But what am I going to do? I ain't so stinking panty waist, but the plain fact of the matter is, that I can't walk from one corner of a store to the other, and back again without biting a whole lot of bullets. Something's got to give.Red Lily wrote:I wouldn't sign that.
I think I'll go ahead and see the guy, then take it from there. It's a miracle that I got in within a week's time. I THINK the lady who was hired specifically to set up these appointments was real close to having her butt handed to her.
There is NO WAY you get into a specialist like a neurosurgeon in a week's time. Somebody severely needed a favor, and somebody was willing to pay her off.

my ancestors used to cover themselves in bear grease. i think for local relief, chicken grease should be just as soothing. like get two of those deep bathtubs, face them into the setting sun, and play with your husband outside. it couldnt hurt.

Good luck 2. I hope it all works out satisfactorily for you.

Re: Questionnaire for New Doc Visit
This doc's office - another page of paperwork - insists that your browser be either Google Chrome or Firefox. Not happening.
And you also have to choose the method you want to receive the code, Text, or Voice.
Guess what. I have neither capabilities. I have a laptop, and a landline. Obviously, they don't 'do' text nor voice.
Why would it matter which browser I use?
I've got a strong feeling that this is not going to be a good fit.

It all sounds unnecessarily convoluted.

It'd be interesting to know why they care which browser I use. And you make a point; this whole 'excursion' has been unnecessarily convoluted.Red Lily wrote:It all sounds unnecessarily convoluted.
