Tuna Casseroles
oh shut up. I like them.
Tuna casserole for beginners.
prep 1 cup rice in a saucepan with water. boil water, add rice, cook for time directed. Rice doubles right? I think i remember this right.
add one can tuna...oughta make that two cans now, drained, since they've made the cans of tuna cat food size.
Add one can of cream of mushroom sauce.

Re: Tuna Casseroles
Why make so much damned work?!
50 cent box of Mac & cheese.
50 cent can of tuna.
Cook mac and cheese. Add tuna.
A little cayenne and fresh cracked black pepper on top.
Or you can buy a box of Tuna Helper for 3 times the price.
I come from "The Land of Rice and Boudin" . I don't think I've ever eaten fish and rice together unless the fish was cooked in a couvillion or fish gravy like "sauce piquant" and served over rice.
The possibilities are endless , though.

Re: Tuna Casseroles
I love tuna casserole. It's a good old favorite. When I've made and finished it in a saucepan I pour it into a pyrex dish and top it with panko crumbs and cheese then put it in the oven til it's crispy.
Oh and I have it with rice

If there is one thing Cajuns excel at, it's cooking.

Re: Tuna Casseroles
This is my current favorite Tuna Casserole recipe
Fix one box of kraft mac and cheese per directions.
add i can drained, mixed veggies or i can drained peas or your choice.
add i can cream of chicken soup
add i can white tuna drained.
mix up. I like to add soy sauce.
You can also do what Red says and put panko, cheese, crackers, your choice on top and pop in oven for a few minutes.

Re: Tuna Casseroles
I used to put eggs etc into Tuna Salad..but sometimes less is more if you get my drift.
2 cans of albacore tuna, drained, flaked @ 10 oz cans
i put in finely diced onion...about a half a large onion, you can do more or less to taste
i used pickle cubes, mt olive, at least a 1/2 cup, more if i like
1 - 2 packets sweet n low or sugar if you prefer....that'd probably be 4 t sugar
vinegar, usually about the same amount as the sugar.
salt, celery seed,
The Captain scarfs it down.
