Re: $45 Minimum Wage @IzelTV
As for "ending" poverty. We've had poor people since the dawn of civilization. They will be among us at the Tribulation. There is no policy, plan, or program that will solve it. NYT did a study in the late 80's. They asked a number of homeless if they would volunteer to take a survey concerning alcohol substance abuse. 'Bout half said no. Of the half that agreed they were asked if they used alcohol or drugs. Again half said no. Of those, approx 70% tested positive for alcohol/substance abuse. And that is only part of the issue. The "Great Society" has destroyed more black families in 60 years than 160 years of Democrat KKK actions. According to Thomas Sowell until the 60's blacks had a higher percentage of married families than whites. You can see for yourself the results of "Now the n's* will vote Democrat for the next 150 years" * N does not mean negro. Stealing money from one group and giving it to another does nothing.
Long ago and far away I was in the military. CNO Admiral Zumwalt was faced with declining enlistments, as the Draft was ending. He determined raising the pay would alleviate this problem. So enlisted pay went up markedly.....in June. This was published in the Navy Times in January. Guess what happened? A beer and a shot went from $.75 to $1.50 cigarettes went to .50. This was in January 6 mos before we saw the money. This was not the worst. The worst was off base rents, which doubled in price as they came up for renewal.
Another example are lotteries. They came into vogue just as Reagans' earned income tax credit came into being. People had more money and they promptly spent it on lottery tickets. In many cases the winners were worse off after they had won the lottery than before. Lottery winners should be required to pay back all moneys given out in WIC, SNAP etc payments before they receive any winnings. That in itself would help immensely. Conservationists have learned if you put a bounty on something you will end up with more of them. Rattlesnakes come to mind. I think it was Texas, that wanted to get rid of them. That didn't turn out as planned, folks were breeding rattlesnakes. Same with gun buybacks. More than one person has paid for their 3D printer by selling guns at the local buyback. Ending poverty does work in some limited cases. The Castros in Cuba ended up as Billionaires, as did Chavez and Maduro in Venezuela. Earlier Yassar Arafat of the PLO scraped a billion or two from the Palestinians. No one knows how much Oprah and DiddleySquat have made from their enterprises. Let's not forget the "Revs Jackson and Sharpton". To paraphrase an Atty from Siben and Siben in Bay Shore NY "Ending poverty can be very lucrative". I and several others on this forum, see greed and power wrapped up in altruistic hubris as your ultimate goal(s)

There's always a few, who don't have a clue how the system works, or what persons in office can do - practically, or legally.
...and those "few" are mostly Dems and RINOs who lust for wealth and power at OTHER PEOPLE'S expense while claiming that they are for the "average person" then they throw out buzz words like "democracy", "freedom" and "rights" and viola' it SOUNDS like they are for the constituents. Once they are elected THEN they enact their secret agenda!
Thus we have the "woke" military, DEI, CRT, "defund law enforcement", skyrocketing prices, wars, millions of illegals and a weaponized government. Yeah, it SOUNDS good but, once they get into that cushy job, they wage war on the middle class.

An individual making $7.25/hr at entry level positions should get boosted up almost 6 times(600%) in pay..
Do you think this should apply to everyone?
What about a skilled craftsman ? Or a college Graduate?
Skilled craftsmen make 45 dollars/hr and some double time. Basic needs, skilled craftsman make much more with intermitten, on demand work.
Plumbers, HVAC, electricians, charge $100/hr or more.
Should not they recieve a 600 percent increase in prices charged on their work also.
But wait a minute! .... These are skilled workers. Should not the recieve a 1000% increase in pay due to their value of work?
Shouldn't pipefitters and welders be making $450/hr amd HVAC techs and plumbers be making $1000/hr?
Or do you think these people do not deserve the same increase in wage?
You overlook the cost of insurance (for contractors), tools, training costs (trade schools are not free) and most times, the guy on the ground doesn't make that $100/hour. Even if he owns the company. He has to pay rent, commercial trucks, licenses and permits, a bookkeeper and accountant. AT LEAST.
What his "plan" would do is jack the cost of ALL labor at LEAST 400 percent. Not just the MinWage people - EVERYONE who makes less than $45 gets a raise. And since they're more productive (given that they make twice the current minimum wage, and worth twice, to employers) they'll need a percentage more than the New Minimum. Probably twice as much.
We have immediate tripling of the cost, the price, of EVERYTHING.

Yes, there would be a tripling of the cost for the average person/family. Yes, families would be unable to feed, cloth or provide medical care for their children but, that's when the Dems would pounce and claim that socialism was the "answer" to all the woes. Dems would of course blame capitalism, President Trump and the MAGA supporters as they removed freedom, enacted gun control and marshal law. The Dems might even be able to remove the U.S. Constitution. All for the Dems socialist/Communist "utopia". The Dems would use the wrecked economy to push abortion and the murder of children even more.
Dems would of course claim that it was all in the name of "equality", "fairness", "Democracy", Etc., Etc., Etc. It would of course SOUND good but, there would be a hollow core, lies and empty promises involved.

Here is another hole in your silly idea.

Isn't grand how leftists have such great plans for OPM?
I find it interesting they never put their own money in these scams, but only use grants. And only a government is corrupt enough to fund them. You never seen hedge funds, organized crime, or drug cartels etc investing in these scams. Even banks and insurance companies don't pander to this silliness

If the cost of living is tripled, and there is no way to make things work...we won't be worrying about abortion. Or "fairness."
We'll be worrying about eating.
We'll be Haiti. Complete, barbarous chaos.

Those things are put out in campaigns, and if successful, even implemented...to buy the support of the Stupids.
People think, why would mega-rich Globalists be for Communism? They'd have nothing.
No...they'd have POWER. Because THEY are the CHOSEN. They will be the leaders to bring FAIRNESS and EQUITY to all the benighted Deplorables!
...and anyone else who threatens their power or elevated status.
Once a Communist cadre has power, it no longer MATTERS if that Grand Poobah has property, or not. If the government owns everything, and he owns the government...you can call this whatever you want; HE HAS CONTROL and HE WILL ALLOCATE.
HE gets the six daschas and the 20 blonde whores. YOU get a hovel and watery beet soup. No milk for you!
It just shows Andrew Yang's naivety that his "brilliant" UBI proposal blew up before he got it rolling, or got personal power. Too bad for him...he should have studied Bubba's career a bit closer. Or Huey Long's ascent before he got wasted.
