i think he will be far enough east if he is in the Kissimmee/Orlando area. That is is the track doesn't change.
Nonetheless, with a powerful hurricane like this he will still feel a good breeze.

exactly. My daughter in law has lived in florida her whole life and the general attitude of floridians who've lived there that long is one of laissez faire. THERE WILL be a run on generators, water, food stuffs.

I used to be comme ca( like dat) . Lol.
Seen a many and been through some of the worst, like Andrew 92, Gustav2008, Betsy in 65, and scores of others i cant even remember the names. So many that hit here and cause severe damage. It's just a question of a few miles in the path.
So many close calls!
I'm too old for this kind of anxiety and possible destruction.
Even though I'm fully equipped and prepared.
When your home is destroyed, you are truly in need .
We cant even afford home insurance , here anymore.
My dad told me just today, that he pays over $1000 every 6 months for home insurance.
That doesn't include flood insurance which is administered by the Federal Government and also unaffordable, now.
Almost a doubling in premiums.

Well...yer old enough, almost as old as me. Maybe you could just pull up roots and find a place with weather a bit more placid.
You had roots in Ohio, IIRC. One of the cheapest places to buy a home is Youngstown. Now, granted, that was before they started flying Voodoo adherents in; but, if you can make it in N'Orleans, you can put up with a few stray Haitians in Youngstown.
Failing that...how does Mexico sound? Soon, it will be moar stable and safe than the Untied Skates. Thanks to the hard work of Davos Man.
I wouldn't recommend Missoula. Lovely country...so lovely that half of LA has washed up here, it seems. Land prices and rents have both quadrupled in ten years.
