If worse comes to worse, I've got ya a ride outta there...
Thank you, @2cent .
P.S. I can't quite tell how close the proximity is to Corpus Christi. Can ya give me any kind of clue on that? My sister lives around 30 miles from there; however, is here, atm.

Just waiting for the worse, now. That won't come until after dark and into the early morning hours.
Sorry i haven't been posting updates and forecasts, and tropical tidbits.
I've been too busy.

Re: Hurricane Francine
Short vid. Its a town.
Un cocodrie en francais = crocodile/alligator in english.
Storm is coming ashore as a cat 2 now.
Thankfully, the storm track has moved slightly east of the original, forecast track.
Every little jog east is in my favor.
The huuricane will advance northeast between Baton Rouge and NOLA, slightly closer to BR.
It will still be a windy night with the hope of no tornadoes.
Sustained winds in the 30s with gusts to 60.
I've known for a long time, most people don't give a shit, unless they are affected negatively.
That's why i joined The Cajun Navy in 2016!
I was a charter member.
What transpired there , weather wise was far worse than any hurricane.
A cut off low pressure system that did not move, and 30 inches of rain in about 2 days. It started raining heavily and never stopped!
I was stationed on the west bank of the Amite river but did most rescues very close to river itself on both the east bank in Denham Springs and the west bank in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Most of these great volunteers were rookies just trying to help. Best folks i ever met in my life!
They had no experience with rapid current nor the boats to handle it.
That's where i came in. There ain't no place you can't go in a flat bottomed, aluminum, crawfish skiff.
The major problem was no coordination!
Only walkie-talkies and 2-way radio worked.
No prollem. Got dem 2.
You see the assholes at AT&T didn't even bother to put sandbags at there switching station in Baton Rouge and it flooded! Knocking out vital 911 and all service to 3 states for weeks!
There was No cellphone service to coordinate these rescues. It was very problematic.
Mostly shots in the dark in flooded neighborhoods. People on there roofs with no way to call for help!
I was glad to make a difference. I could not provide these folks with new homes. But i did provide 4 cats with new, local, homes at the request of their owners.
I stayed in the Navy for 3 years, until it became an internal, political shit fest!
Kinda like Hunting Club politics.
I'll always pay it forward!
And hope for the same. I'm too old to start over.

Re: Hurricane Francine
It's not over by any means. Folks are getting hammered down south.
Just the eyewall. That's bad enough at 100 mph!
But, it's not like being hit with multiple bands of rain and multiple rounds of 100mph winds from a cat 3 and each having a destructive effect.
I thank the Lord for saving me from one more.
