You got me into reading Exodus again.  VEry interesting.  I did a study on Elijah the prophet  in 1 kings 17  a couple years ago and if you don't have that study bible and/or read it carefully, you can miss the reasons that God did something the way he did.  As i was reading tonight i started thinking about the 10 plagues of Egypt.   The number 10 has significance in the bible.  Ten symbolizes the fullness of God's moral law, justice and judgement...the ten commandments, plagues of egypt, respectively.

In Elijah God caused a drought  and that was a direct slam to the god Ba'al  worshipped by king Ahab and queen Jezebel of Israel.   The Ba'al priests prayed to Ba'al to bring the rain because he is the god of fertility and crops and more.... God showed ahab/jezebel and the israelites that Ba'al was a powerless manmade god who could do nothing.   That drought lasted 3 long years.

With the plagues  Each plague was a evidence of a worthless god who could do nothing...

10 of them, their purview and a description of each plague..

Now finally to my point.   Pharoah pronounced that curse, the tenth one himself.   and God often gives us what we think we want...only not in the way we expected to get it.   it's a hard lesson for the hard headed.   I've gotten those lessons before.

I have to say that that seems to be what God is doing to the democrats today.

I might add that the worthless god of money, wealth, power and fame (i.e. the devil), is worshipped today even though it's been proven over and over again that those things won't last.
