Reviewing The Book of Genesis Empty Reviewing The Book of Genesis

Post by RV Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:57 pm

I was reviewing the book of Genesis and it suddenly occurred to me. Back in the Garden of Eden, humans thought that they could hide from God and fool Him into believing a lie. Humans continue to "hide" from God to this day and have fooled themselves into believing or at least acting like God won't know, doesn't exist or somehow that God can be fooled into believing a lie. It didn't work then and it won't work now.

Reviewing The Book of Genesis Empty Re: Reviewing The Book of Genesis

i've been doing the same. and i'm also attempting to put either one word or a short phrase that would wrap up the meaning of content from Genesis 1 to oh...about Genesis 11. I believe there is a broader sense to what each of these chapter accounts mean for the human race as a whole rather than just the stories as they pertain to humans living at the time. Does that make sense RV?? or ...maybe i'm just picking up on it now and am behind everyone else. LOL

https://answersingenesis.org/worldview/beginning-god-refuted-all-false-ideologies/

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). The truth of the first verse of the Bible and the theology that flows from it refutes all false ideologies about the meaning and origin of the world including atheism, evolution, materialism, naturalism, humanism, deism, pantheism, polytheism, monism, and dualism.1 This is because everything in the world owes its existence to the one true and living God (Acts 14:15, 17:28).

God’s revelation of himself through creation has been clear ever since the creation week in Genesis 1 (Romans 1:20).
Atheism is the belief that there is no God. It is not the lack of a belief in God since it not only involves a negative belief (unbelief in God), but it also involves a positive belief in the philosophy of naturalism (see below). Genesis 1:1 tells us atheism is wrong because the heavens and earth were created by God. The Bible tells us that those who do not hold to the view that God created the world and that we are creatures of God are not thinking rationally but irrationally, even foolishly (see Psalm 14:1). This is because those who reject the existence of God are suppressing the truth of his revelation in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18–19). God’s revelation of himself through creation has been clear ever since the creation week in Genesis 1 (Romans 1:20).

Really? Scripture doesn't back up and explain scripture? Why because YOU say it doesn't? Funny, yet you claimed to be a "christian"...

What a double standard! "Science" uses speculation, theories, assumptions and guesses to "prove" their "findings"!

Reviewing The Book of Genesis Empty Re: Reviewing The Book of Genesis

Verse five reads, “Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes” (Proverbs 26:5). Just because we refuse to accept the skeptic’s terms of debate does not mean that we should leave his arguments or objections unanswered. We are commanded in Scripture to answer the skeptical questions that people have about the Christian faith and point these people to the hope we have in Christ and the forgiveness he offers (1 Peter 3:14–17; cf. 2 Timothy 2:23–26). This is the essence of apologetics from a biblical perspective.

After we explain that we will not give up our presuppositions but will use the true history recorded in Scripture to interpret the evidence and present arguments, we can “answer a fool according to his folly” by showing him the logical consequences of his presuppositions. To do this, we help the skeptic see where his thinking leads when it is followed to its natural conclusions—we point out the foolishness of his thinking so he doesn’t think he is wiser than God. For example, you can ask, “If you believe that animals killing one another is simply part of nature and humans are just smart animals, then why is it wrong for humans to kill and eat one another? We don’t get mad at a big salmon eating a smaller salmon.” This type of question reveals the skeptic’s inconsistent thinking, exposing the foolishness of a worldview without God.

1 Corinthians 2:14
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

in other words.
1Corinthians 2:14 NIV

14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
