Burning Man festival not doing so well this year

i used to put eggs in potato salad, chicken salad but i don't anymore. And i really don't miss it.... I used onions, celery/celery seed, vinegar, sugar, mustard, mayo, salt, a leetle bit of texas pete.

Would you miss the eggs if you left them out?

I like all potato salad. Lol
But I really like ole-tyme/old people PS.

Back in the day, few folks here had access to mayo. So they just made a dry salad with potatoes and eggs.

But I love me some deviled eggs!
I always eat way too many at a time and it activates my pooter tooter.

my grandmother made a potato salad that was mashed potatoes. My mother said she had never had or seen potato salad made the way my grandmother made it.   and it was YUMMY.  i know it sounds weird with the potatoes mashed but it tasted good.  Had pickles, onions, celery, celery seed, sugar, salt, vinegar, mayo, mustard but not enough to make it yellow, she either had eggs in it or she sliced them on the top.   I've never been served a potato salad like that since.

I stir mine until they are pretty well mashed with chunks.
I don't like sweet pickles or relish. I prefer dill pickles or none at all.
What's really good is substitute very finely chopped Green or red bell pepper for pickle.

hmm. dillpickles. hadn't thought of that but i have made tuna salad with olives or dill pickles and it was an interesting and tasty alternative to sweet pickle. oh...and a little mustard with town house or captain crackers. yum.
