A comment that Casey made, 'that fast foods take longer than home cooked'.

I agree.
Also home cooked is usually cheaper and healthier in every way.
It is not 'fancier' or 'tastier' it is nicer.

Tonight, I had some leftover chicken, some remaining mushrooms, toasted some bread, used plum jam instead of cranberry sauce !
It was really nice. Really quick, really cheap.

Well I've been cooking for decades   ...   most nights   ...   week in week out, year in year out and decade in decade out so the occasional takeaway or if someone else cooks once in awhile sees me being VERY VERY GRATEFUL.

I don't give a rats if it takes 30 minutes to get here and if you want decent home cooked food it usually takes longer.

I had a couple of pounds of hamburger meat cooked up; so I just nuked a burger, wrapped it in a Keto mini-taco shell...cheddar cheese on top, and sugar-free ketchup...and a plate of broccoli.

Simple, sure. But food is sustenance, not entertainment, these days. For me, anyway...

I'm feeling great, because today I had business all over town. It unfolded as the day went on; and I was on the bicycle. I expected I'd be tired after about three hours of pedaling in traffic, but I'm not, not really. Price of gas went up ten cents today, and I used none of it.

Last summer I couldn't have done this - the loss of 20 pounds or more, really has changed things.

And I aim to lose more still. So...no ice cream tonight; no Butt Lite or other malts.

But meal preparation, reduced to essentials, is simple.

Bedtime snack tonight: A carrot, out of a bunch I bought at a farmers' market.
