Re: Missing: Titanic Submarine expedition service plus famous explorer
I was reading about a lawsuit where one of the designers sued the company saying the sub was designed for 12,000 foot depths. He said repeated dives over 13,000 would involve eventual stress fractures. The suit was settled out of court.
That sub has been down to the titanic about a dozen times. A depth of about 16,000 feet where pressures are 110x greater than atmospheric pressure.

Over at his Eww Toob channel, Sal Mercogliano, a former merchant marine and now a professor of maritime studies (somewhere) pointed out that these people are BOLTED IN.
There is no escape hatch. According to Sal, who's got a couple of video channels and has some cred...they could be anywhere in the ocean, from the bottom to the surface. BUT. If they surfaced, which in theory they could have done (by releasing their weights) they'd be still locked into that can. And it's airtight.
THAT should have been a red flag for anyone considering this undertaking.
I don't have a video link but if anyone's interested, I can fish around back for it.

Here, I found the link. This is his latest on this; he did an earlier video a day ago when the first reports came out.

This is correct. There is no way open the hatch from the inside.

If they haven't fished them out tomorrow..they're dead. From what i've read being reported...it doesn't appear that any onboard have any skills that would get them out of this situation. No communications expert, technicians. nothing. I feel so bad for that kid.

situation bleak. They can't find it but they hear a knock every thirty minutes from the area. These adults made this decision but this young man has his whole life ahead of him but for this bad decision. I so hope they find them and CAN REACH THEM..>THAT seems to be the problem.
