trying to get to the ACTUAL Titanic on floor of ocean. Might be a bad outcome here.
Seattle-based firm OceanGate, which owns the missing submersible, said it was “exploring and mobilising all options to bring the crew back safely”.
It is not known how many people were on board the submersible at the time it went missing, but it has capacity for five.
“Our entire focus is on the crewmembers in the submersible and their families,” OceanGate told CBS. It said it was “deeply thankful for the extensive assistance we have received from several government agencies and deep sea companies in our efforts to re-establish contact with the submersible”.
Each 10-day OceanGate Titanic expedition sets off from St John’s, Canada. Every year, it recruits six “mission specialists” to view the wreck. The vessel is reportedly around the size of a minivan. It costs $250,000 per person to cover mission training and support.
The Titanic wreck sits 2,500ft down at the bottom of the Atlantic, around 370 miles off the coast of Newfoundland.

Yup.
Like "space-tourists" vying for a seat on one of the private launch companies. Or like that Teacher-In-Space that got blown up when the Shuttle (which was always experimental) had a bad launch.
Look...they're morbid voyeurs, obsessed with that shipwreck. First, it's unremarkable at this point - we've learned all we can of the sinking. Shipbuilding is far different, now, 110 years later. So is seamanship.
Second, it's a grave site. It is, or should be, hallowed ground, so to speak. Yes, I realize that PROBABLY all remains are gone by now - I say probably, because the water is so cold and pressure so great, some things that shouldn't have survived, like leather shoes, have been found near the wreck site. In shallower water, the ship would have been reduced to iron ore by now. Are there bodies or bones remaining?
Do we need to know? Do we need to desecrate that sad testament to hubris and recklessness?
Do I give a flaming whoop that those very-rich voyeurs have gone the way of the dead souls they were there to gawk at, went? Abso-flippin-lutely not.

These tourists paid 250000 for their ticket. It is speculated? that they are lodged in the Titanic wreckage. They've got 60 hours of oxygen left barring any other problems. 250000 is a hell of a price for burial at sea.

Rich people can be fools, too.
And many who went down on the Titanic were also very rich.

one woman it appears was on board. Bet she's wishing at this time she had a do over. I really hope they are rescued but time is running out and since there is no communication..no telling what has happened. The hull of the minivan sized vehicle may have been breached and they're all drowned at this point. I can't imagine the terror of that scenario.
honestly...is there a vehicle that CAN even attempt a rescue??

Probably not.
They won't say it...but it's likely a "recovery" operation now.
They'd have to send equipment down as they did for photographing, years ago - drone subs with remote cameras and grapplers.
This is what comes of not understanding the risks. And of putting such a high price on a thrill, and such cheap value on life.

Things are not looking good. What's worse is there is a teen aged boy on board of paki descent. These people all signed waivers. One look at the vehicle should have had them running for their cars. I feel for this kid. What the hell Dad!!!

5 on board. Including the CEO of the company. Also, Paki dad and son.
The titanic is about 2.4 miles down. That's about 15-16,000 feet.
About 34 hours of oxygen left.
