Nottingham Attacks

Three people have died and another three injured following a series of attacks in the UK city of Nottingham early on Tuesday morning.

Two students, both aged 19, were found stabbed to death in Ilkeston Road, west of Nottingham's city centre, just after 04:00 BST.

In another incident, around 05:30, the driver of a stolen van attempted to run over three people in Milton Street in the city centre. All three were taken to hospital.

Police said they then stopped the van in Maples Street where a man was Tasered and arrested.

A man in his 50s was also found dead from knife injuries in Magdala Road, about a five-minute drive away.

Police believe the suspect stole the man's van before heading to Milton Street where he then drove into people.

Police are linking all three deaths.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Very little information has been publicly released about the suspect but the BBC understands he is a West African migrant with a history of mental health problems.

Everyone is sad because a terrible thing happened in the UK. It’s one of those terrible things that keeps happening ever since the UK decided that its borders should be open… and there is no explanation for it.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after three people were fatally stabbed in the English city of Nottingham and a van attempted to run over more people early Tuesday morning, police said.  {west african originzz}  

Police said they were called to Ilkeston Road in the center of the city shortly after 4 a.m. local time and discovered two people dead in the street. The two victims — both 19 — had been stabbed, Chief Constable Kate Meynell said.

Shortly after, police officers were called to another incident a short distance away on Milton Street to reports that a van had attempted to run over three people. One man was transported to a hospital in critical condition, while the other two are believed to have suffered minor injuries, police said.

A man in his 50s was also found dead from “knife injuries” a few blocks away on Magdala Road, according to Maynell. Police believe the suspect stole this victim’s van and then “drove at members of the public” on Milton Street, Meynell said.

The attack is characteristic of Islamic terrorism in that it involved a combination car attack and stabbing rampage. And that the killer’s identity is being kept more closely than Prince Andrew’s romps with Jeffrey Epstein.

Police are keeping an open mind over the motive for a knife and van attack (by a man of west african origin) in Nottingham which killed three people, including two students.
