Top Hollywood writers took to social media to express defiant support for their first union walkout in 15 years and showed their feelings about studios being unwilling to meet their contract demands.

The Writers Guild of America announced the work stoppage will begin Tuesday afternoon. The union also released a list of claimed responses from the studios to their proposals which helped fire up members.

The strike will have a quick impact on late-night shows and may impact and delay other shows – such as the broadcast fall TV seasons – if the stand-off drags on. The two sides have not yet agreed to a time to resume negotiations.

As a sailor a pirate would not accept this kind of negotiation tactic. If they don't like the pay, they walk the plank & the sharks eat them. And there is more pay for those that stay on & are loyal to the captain. But these Hollywood types are going to drive up the prices of movies & streaming services so much that I think much of the streaming apps will end up going away with what these actors & writers are asking. I wonder how it is we could encourage more imaginative works, develop talent, somehow help that industry turn around.

I guess the first step would be getting rid of this equity nonsense. Yeah, I know; good luck w/that one.

HOllywood actors are joining in protest with the writers. NOW all these people can put they money where they mouth is and go fight in Ukraine. Win win for everyone.
