Re: Why Australia is stuffed.
I've had to make a lot of calls recently because I'm 'carer' for my ex and after surgery and radiotherapy on his brain he's not always good at remembering the complicated stuff. Hence I have to do all that to double check and make sure things are ok.
I've found a well recommended practice close to his home and will have to take him next week. If I'm happy I might change and go there myself.
I've made dozens of calls to find a new doctor for him and most of the ones I've talked to still bulk bill. I hope it stays that way.

You are a good person R , as he hasn't always been nice to you, , I hope at some point he acknowledges your unselfish empathy

Re: Why Australia is stuffed.
There is more to this than meets the eye and I am beginning to
wonder just who to blame.
Apparently there are court cases pending at the moment as to whether
GPs should have to pay payroll tax.
Currently, GPs in Australian states dont have to pay payroll tax on turnovers
ranging from $700,00 to $1 million.
However some state revenue departments have already issued assessments
for payroll tax going back to 2016.
There is a case currently before the NSW Court of Appeal.
The GPs are being screwed by the federal government due to a reduction
in rebates and the state governments who now want payroll tax...
In the long run any cost will be passed on us....
The peasants....

Thanks P. I'll be honest here ... it's all grating on my last nerve at present!

I'm starting to think there are different countries above and below the NSW border.

https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/nsw-coalition-pledges-feasibility-study-for-specialist-domestic-violence-courts/ar-AA16Rs43
Feasibility study for special domestic violence courts....
I see...
Campbelltown Court has a domestic violence day where upwards
of 200 cases are listed on a weekly basis.
Perhaps we should also create special domestic violence police officers..
I know....maybe we can have domestic violence courses in schools...
The entire domestic violence reporting, hearing and sentencing
system is an absolute debacle....
Once a police officer is involved in Qld with a dv case a period of
four hours is needed for the paperwork....
The entire system is a disgrace...
