Re: Pea and Ham Soup
I've never heard of Peas Pudding but, although it looks too complicated for my patience level nowadays lol, I'm sure it tastes good.
I just tossed my all my soup ingredients together into the slow cooker and it's slowly cooking away and it sure smells good.

If you make a nice thick one when it cools you can slice it like cheese, great on a salad sammie

Re: Pea and Ham Soup
The previous year I put the ham bone in the freezer with the intention of making soup at a later date. It's still there LOL.

Re: Pea and Ham Soup
I swing from thick to thin on my soups, sometimes I use a lot of split peas and lentils and barley, sometimes I like to soak them before I put them in the soup, give the a good rinse , then not even get it to a simmer so they don't break down as much and you get a more watery soup with the peas and lentils intact , celery and parsley and spinach , fresh beans , broccoli , silver beet, at the end to give it a real green component . It looks as good as it tastes , It got a real feel good thing going

Re: Pea and Ham Soup
I like this soup thick but not so thick it's like butter lol.
I'll blitz it with the stick blender when it's done and cooled but maybe I'll put in a little shredded ham from the bone after the blitz.
I hated this soup as a kid but now I love it.
