You never hear about these people..they don't talk about it...and they're not giving out any stories or experience for statisticians. People break bad/deadly habits all the time. and they do it themselves (many with God's help).

That in its most simple form is correct, But people need help to reach that point, And being within a group of people in a similar situation can be helpful, you can build a community that can support you

The minute that group breaks to go home because the organizers 8 hour workday is over is when the addict goes back to the problem . Its a weakness in the person and most can't deal with it alone - and the problem with being alone is that its a common occurrence in life . You win some - you lose some .
