I vote mostly Republican because I want my vote to be relevant, but I have pretty strong Libertarian leanings. For example, I have no problem with legalizing all drugs as long as my tax dollars aren't used to bail them out when they hurt themselves or somebody else. Since politicians can't help but coddle idiots, I'm not ready to legalize all drugs.

Like tabaco in NZ, heavily taxed and more than pays its way , its not a burden on the tax payer. .In fact it collects more than it spends

If all drugs were "legalized" then even MORE tax dollars would be going for social services for idiots who mistakenly think that they are "better", "stronger", etc. than others. As it is, way too many tax dollars are going to under the influence morons who think that they are stronger than the world even when confronted by law enforcement. Then there are the ambulance calls for morons who overdose, drug addiction programs, court time, smash-n-grabs, shoplifting, etc., etc., etc.
There are teachers, custodians, substitutes, day care workers and bus drivers who are with our kids and under the influence of LEGAL and ILLEGAL substances!
We have enough problems with the legal stuff now much less legalizing other drugs.

More tax revenue means more spending. We would never see a penny of legal drug revenue because it would be earmarked for a pet project before we ever saw a penny, and we would be paying extra to support the idiots and their victims.

Re: Anybody Voting Libertarian this Time Around?
In all my years of being politically involved, that has got to be the WORST advice I've seen to date.Wyatt Earp wrote:No. My state has solid statewide Republican candidates across the board.
The Republican House candidate in my district (Juan Ciscomani) doesn't sound very good though.
I actually don't recommend voting Libertarian under any circumstances. When you give them 5% of the vote, they start to appear in debates. So, leaving your vote blank is better than voting Libertarian. I'd recommend voting Constitution Party if anything.
The Libertarian douche in this debate spent 90% of his time attacking Blake Masters and trying to undercut his arguments against Mark Kelly. One way was by acting like open borders is a sensible policy. In truth, he should have never been allowed on the debate stage.
He tried to blame "both Democrats AND Republicans" for inflation in a dishonest attempt to tie Blake Masters to inflation. Nope, sorry piglet. Those are Democrats and establishment Republicans who are responsible for reckless spending. Masters isn't part of the cabal. That's why actual conservatives like me nominated him.
I also don't want the GOP to become more libertarian. I want them to become more populist to win over the working class, kicking the neocons out.
Let's say your representative is a powerful liberal Republican like Paul Ryan. The House is 435 seats. I would recommend you vote in the Republican primaries for your candidate, then vote Democrat in the general election. House terms are only 2 years, so you can get who you really do want in the next election. It's the only way to realistically get cucked Republicans out of power. Voting third party doesn't accomplish it. The only time I wouldn't recommend that is if you're faced with a blue wave year like 2006 was.
I voted Democrat in 2016 so that John McCain would lose. It didn't happen, but I still don't regret my vote. He sucked.
I don't vote simply to win, when all "winning" means is that there's more "R's" in office than "D's." That's meaningless. I vote for a person who most represents my thinking - which would = as close to the Constitution as possible. And you recommend I vote for a Democrat??!!
Are you out of your ever living mind???!!!
And, harsh as it may sound, I WANT Libertarians to have a voice at the debates. The two men I have in mind are both strongly conservative, w/o going off the ranch when it comes to law enforcement.
May I recommend you quit handing out advice.

Personally, I will not vote Libertarian in an election of National significance, it lacks pragmatism.
Local elections, where all politics begin, is a different situation; I consider Libertarian candidates.
Maybe crappy analogy:
A Libertarian vote might be akin to Naturalists on a sailing ship that's taking on water.
2/3 of the crew begin to bail; remainder of the crew refuse to don life jackets or bail water because the jackets and pails are made from petroleum products.
The ship sinks; all die at sea.
jus' my dime.
