In NZ students get interest free loans, If they stay in NZ a little is deducted from the income every week, The first year at Uni is free.

The first year free was put in place to encourage all the brown fellas to sign up, But in reality all it achieved was to give middle class kids like mine a freeby for the fist year

It's immorality in practice.

It's THEFT. To borrow money and they work to find a way not to repay that money, is THEFT.

To color this any other way, is to obscure basic morality - basic facts about right and wrong. That money BELONGS to someone - in this case, the government, paid for (or obligated by) taxpayers/citizens. To take the money as loans and then seek to have it as gifts...is to seek to steal from those who cannot defend their interests.
