When Californians move to Texas

Nope.  The Californian can leave with the Portland dude.

The only reason I'm ok with my uncle moving back to Texas is because he is 82 years old and has no Californian spawn to infect Texas long term.

I'm with ya; but this is a pestilence invasion...not unlike termites. Or Wu Flu.

It's not looking like Texas will survive. I sure hope I'm wrong, but I've talked to older Texans who've come up to Montana. The trends are not good.

I'd been through this before. I had a front-row seat to the decline and fall of Colorado.

So far, most of the decay is in the big cities. Rural Texas is still very conservative.

My California uncle thinks he is going to educate us silly Texans with being green. He traded in his Suburu for a Mustang Mach e. He wants to visit and show off his car, but he is having trouble finding places to charge his car. I told him not to make his ONLY car an electric car. He is wanting to pay an electrician to install a 220V outlet under my parents carport so he can charge his car on my parents dime when he visits. lol

It's the most un-cool car on the road today. And on the road it stays - it's a road-roach. Nothing kills them.

I had one as an interim car for a year - paid $1700 for it, and got 20,000 miles out of it (255k miles total) and wish I'd kept it, or had another.

He can probably pick up a 20-year-old one, well-cared for, for about $2500.

That's going to be a big problem in the future. Friends and family dropping in and wanting to charge their cars. That's going to get very old very fast.
