Re: A Rant about Health Care
My daughter laughs at me when i have the nerve to say something to people like this....she says..'mom, they don't care. It won't change anything.' Why should i be quiet. All it takes for evil to win is for people to be silent. if everyone is silent then they think that what they're doing is right and justifiable.

Urgent care had not the slightest idea of what might be wrong and told me to immediately go to the hospital ER. The pain in my toe, advanced into my foot and up my leg. The emergency room said there was nothing they could do. I needed a podiatrist. Waited I until my doctor came back. He said I might have a toenail fungus. I needed a podiatrist. The insurance company would not authorize the specialist. By now the pain was blinding and red lines were bulging in my foot and leg. They could not give me anything for the pain. I could hardly breathe and couldn't sleep. I ended up screaming into the phone that I needed a specialist.
I did get an appointment at 4pm on a Friday. I hobbled into his office. Without even looking he took off the toenail that he said had the fungus. It didn't help. My toe, foot and leg had swollen and was developing purple bruises. I begged for help. I was in the worst pain of my life. No doctor would give me anything. The podiatrist suggested aspirin and benadryl. I took it. Why not. What is wrong with my foot, my leg? The coloration, the pain. This can't be a toenail fungus.
I tried to get a disabled placke from the DMV and got turned down. Eventually it did resolve. The swelling went down, the pain subsided but the toe was left deformed.
The last time I went to this podiatrist, I told him that my experience didn't sound like any fungus I ever heard of. He said and I quote
"You never had any fungus. You had a blood clot. The aspirin eventually just dissolved it."
A blood clot. Why didn't he do something? Tell my doctor. I could have died, had a stroke, a heart attack. I was in agony.
Really, no one cares about others. You can't even pay them to care.
Had you died, it probably would have went into the statistics as a Covid death that would have then been used to scare more people and get more tax dollars from the federal government. They "win" either way.
The fact that you didn't die means that you'll be paying taxes...

It was snap! My EKG machine should be here any day now.Lummy wrote:You gave yourself an MRI?!
Re: the OP. Mr. 2 and I are pretty sure the problem is with the medical center's communication system(s). Here's why. He and I both go to specialists within the same regional medical center. At one time, his was in one town, mine in another. When I called my doc's office w/a question, they called back on my husband's new cell phone, the number to which they never should have had!
So, for all we know, they've been trying to call some old cell phone number. Elsewise, I've had very good care. I made an appt., they'd have me in for a procedure within minutes of my arrival. They'd call back in about 3 weeks, and set up the next appt. for the following week, and so on.
In short, perhaps I overreacted? I'm very anxious about getting in before Sept 7, and - as you see, that date is looming large.
Don't know if I should say this aloud or not, but I'll chance it. My dear heart is on his way over there to find out what's up.

Hopefully he'll come home with an appointment time but it's a shame he has to drive all that way to sort things out.

Re: A Rant about Health Care
Thanks. Don't know what happened to my post to let y'all know that he drove all that way there for nothing! They're CLOSED on Fridays! That is NOT what it ways on both their web site, and their phone recording. But it does state it in small print on their front door.Red Lily wrote:Hopefully he'll come home with an appointment time but it's a shame he has to drive all that way to sort things out.
Leave it to Mr. 2 to not be the least daunted. He plans to drive back Mon. The guy does NOT give up easily, God love him. This time I'll work it out somehow to go with him. Thing is, our plan was to leave one of us at home to man the phones, 'cuz if they claim they tried to call, he's gonna say, "Prove it!" <chuckles beneath her breath, shakes head> What kin ya do?
Meanwhile, I'm going to see if a acupuncturist can't help. Oh! FWIW, I'm experiencing 0 pain atm.
Again, so sorry! I had no idea I left you hanging. Bummer.
