https://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-nationalism.html

Christian nationalism is most often employed as a derogatory term. It is crucial to realize that labels can be unfairly used to trigger an emotional response. Beliefs require more than superficial connection to biblical faith to be truly “Christian,” just as vague similarities between two ideas do not make them equivalent. Such distinctions are often lost in the exaggeration and melodrama of modern communication. It’s common to attack opposing views using the most provocative language possible. Terms like communist, hate, radical, racist, fascist, supremacist, and traitor are applied to views that don’t reasonably fit those definitions. Nationalism falls into this category, at times.

Broadly speaking, biblical Christianity neither implies nor includes “Christian nationalism.” Christians are obligated to individually submit to the will of God (Romans 12:1) and to support one another along those lines (John 15:12). In practice, this means advocating for government actions consistent with a Christian worldview (Proverbs 14:34). It includes defying government commands to commit sin (Acts 5:29). At the same time, a believer’s primary mission is not earthly, let alone political (John 18:36). In fact, the main descriptor for a Christian’s relationship to government is “submission” (Romans 13:1), not “domination.” Perspectives such as Christian Dominionism or Kingdom Now theology rightly invite accusations of “Christian nationalism,” though such perspectives are not reflected in Scripture.

Every person must obey the leaders of the land. There is no power given but from God, and all leaders are allowed by God.
The person who does not obey the leaders of the land is working against what God has done. Anyone who does that will be punished.

Acts 5:29 ESV /

But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

Civil Disobedience—Examples in Scripture
In Exodus 1, the Egyptian Pharaoh gave the clear command to two Hebrew midwives that they were to kill all male Jewish babies. An extreme patriot would have carried out the government’s order, yet the Bible says the midwives disobeyed Pharaoh and “feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live” (Exodus 1:17). The Bible goes on to say the midwives lied to Pharaoh about why they were letting the children live; yet even though they lied and disobeyed their government, “God was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied, and became very mighty. Because the midwives feared God, He established households for them” (Exodus 1:20–21).

In Joshua 2, Rahab directly disobeyed a command from the king of Jericho to produce the Israelite spies who had entered the city to gain intelligence for battle. Instead, she let them down via a rope so they could escape. Even though Rahab had received a clear order from the top government official, she resisted the command and was redeemed from the city’s destruction when Joshua and the Israeli army destroyed it.

The book of 1 Samuel records a command given by King Saul during a military campaign that no one could eat until Saul had won his battle with the Philistines. However, Saul’s son Jonathan, who had not heard the order, ate honey to refresh himself from the hard battle the army had waged. When Saul found out about it, he ordered his son to die. However, the people resisted Saul and his command and saved Jonathan from being put to death (1 Samuel 14:45).

Another example of civil disobedience in keeping with biblical submission is found in 1 Kings 18. That chapter briefly introduces a man named Obadiah who “feared the Lord greatly.” When the queen Jezebel was killing God’s prophets, Obadiah took a hundred of them and hid them from her so they could live. Such an act was in clear defiance of the ruling authority’s wishes.

In 2 Kings, the only apparently approved revolt against a reigning government official is recorded. Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, began to destroy the royal offspring of the house of Judah. However, Joash the son of Ahaziah was taken by the king’s daughter and hidden from Athaliah so that the bloodline would be preserved. Six years later, Jehoiada gathered men around him, declared Joash to be king, and put Athaliah to death.

Daniel records a number of civil disobedience examples. The first is found in chapter 3 where Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow down to the golden idol in disobedience to King Nebuchadnezzar’s command. The second is in chapter 6 where Daniel defies King Darius’ decree to not pray to anyone other than the king. In both cases, God rescued His people from the death penalty that was imposed, signaling His approval of their actions.

In the New Testament, the book of Acts records the civil disobedience of Peter and John towards the authorities that were in power at the time. After Peter healed a man born lame, Peter and John were arrested for preaching about Jesus and put in jail. The religious authorities were determined to stop them from teaching about Jesus; however, Peter said, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:19–20). Later, the rulers confronted the apostles again and reminded them of their command to not teach about Jesus, but Peter responded, “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

One last example of civil disobedience is found in the book of Revelation where the Antichrist commands all those who are alive during the end times to worship an image of himself. But the apostle John, who wrote Revelation, states that those who become Christians at the time will disobey the Antichrist and his government and refuse to worship the image (Revelation 13:15) just as Daniel’s companions violated Nebuchadnezzar’s decree to worship his idol.

Civil Disobedience—Conclusion
What conclusions can be drawn from the above biblical examples? The guidelines for a Christian’s civil disobedience can be summed as follows:

• Christians should resist a government that commands or compels evil and should work nonviolently within the laws of the land to change a government that permits evil.
• Civil disobedience is permitted when the government’s laws or commands are in direct violation of God’s laws and commands.
• If a Christian disobeys an evil government, unless he can flee from the government, he should accept that government’s punishment for his actions.
• Christians are certainly permitted to work to install new government leaders within the laws that have been established.

Lastly, Christians are commanded to pray for their leaders and for God to intervene in His time to change any ungodly path that they are pursuing: “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity” (1 Timothy 2:1–2).

Facts, and that includes facts about Christianity...these don't matter to the Left's propagandists.

They want to get this in the minds of their NPC sheeple. Christian nationalism is as dangerous as the Taliban. We have to STAMP IT OUT...it's NAZISM!

(...no, not Azov Nazism...that's GOOD Nazism; we need to send $$BILLIONS MOAR over to THEM...)

"GOOD Nazism"? Never heard of Nazism ever being described as "good". Please expound on what you mean by "GOOD Nazism". The only thing that Nazism conjures up in my mind are 6 Million Jews murdered.

Which By the way, I find rather interesting. Other minorities march in the streets and resort to all sorts of violent actions when ONE of theirs is killed by a criminal. Millions of Jews were murdered and all I see are the skeptics spouting off on television and every other liberal venue they can get on stating that they won't believe it. The numerous pictures of all of the Jewish rotting corpses (men, women & children), doesn't convince them? The pictures and films of the Nazi Concentration Camps and the shape of the "prisoners", doesn't convince them? The Nazi furnaces located in most if not all "prison camps", doesn't convince them? The "Final Solution" documents that the Nazi's had, doesn't convince them? The Nazi's who have blatantly admitted their role in assaulting, raping and murdering Jews doesn't convince them? The Nuremberg trials don't convince them? The Nazi interest in propaganda and the fact that a "Propaganda Minister" was named by Hitler doesn't convince them?

I was being sarcastic, of course. Speaking en sotto voce of our beloved (not) DemocRats.

They LOVE Nazis, when they're Good Nazis. When they're Azov Nazis, put in power by the Brown Clown, given money by the trillions by Fow Chee's CDC (for U N ME) to develop New, Improved viruses to kill "Them." Who is "Them" depends on who you are speaking to. The Azovs wanted it to be the Russians. Gates and Fow Chee wanted it to be us Useless Eaters.

The point is, of course, the Left has no moral standards - only expediencies. They'll even defend Nazism, as they've always defended Communism, when it suits their hysteria of the moment.

This rather fits in this topic. I can't figure out the evangelicals and the christian nationalism charge by some pastors...well i could figure it out but i couldn't get a handle on them. I do now.

https://thefederalist.com/2022/08/02/russell-moore-and-evangelical-elites-cant-let-go-of-their-jeremiad-against-conservative-evangelicals/

They're using the charge of christian nationalism because they cannot bend the will of conservative christian voters in the voting booth. So they try to shame them with the charge of christian nationalist...of which there is NO DEFINITION. It means nothing. They tell christians that they cannot be christian if they support President Trump while the Evangelical elites...the apostate pastors are supporting everything the left supports from death to the unborn to filling our children's heads with CRT/lgbtq/transgender filth.

From the article link i posted just above

If Russell Moore and Tim Keller fear idolatrous worship of politicians, they’d do better to address those concerns with the blue communities they serve.

Former Southern Baptist Russell Moore is at it again. Even the overturn of Roe v. Wade failed to produce a moment of unity between Moore and the un-woke evangelicals he’s attacked for six straight years.

The Dobbs decision unleashed a decades-in-the-making, nationwide, pent-up celebration among evangelicals who’ve fought tirelessly for the protection of the unborn. But Moore and most evangelical elites didn’t and don’t feel festive at all. Rather than celebrate, they chided the rank-and-file evangelicals who pay their salaries, saying now was not the time to gloat or take victory laps.

What accounts for such a striking disconnect between evangelical elites and their erstwhile followers? The short answer is Donald Trump. The longer answer is that elite evangelicals have betrayed their vast constituency, the largest reliably conservative voting bloc in the nation, in an attempt to please Democrats. The sine qua non of success on that front is to signal contempt for Trump and his supporters. And so they have.

Accordingly, on June 24, Christianity Today’s Russell Moore tried to draw parallels between violent non-American nationalist movements and evangelical MAGA hat crowd. A few days later Moore continued his jeremiad against Trump nation at the Faith Angel West meeting of religious journalists. In a jab at Trumpers Moore said, “I morally think ‘lesser of two evils’ is not workable” and then admitted that he thinks the Dobbs case is morally tainted for Christians because “one has to look not only at the final result in this case but what is the cost of hitching the pro-life movement to a figure such as [Trump]?” Moore’s commitment to the Never Trump cause reaches back to his 2016 Washington Post declaration that evangelicals who support Trump must “deny everything they believe.”

Moore reflects the posture taken by influential evangelical elites who long ago embraced superstar NYC pastor Timothy Keller’s fixation upon “blue communities” deemed capable of keeping evangelicals on “the right side of history,” — college-educated, Democrat-voting denizens of the nation’s cities and blue enclaves clustered in and around universities from sea to shining sea. The tentacles of the Keller-inspired movement penetrated the largest evangelical publishing houses and denominations including the Presbyterian Church in America, and the gigantic Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). By 2012, Christianity Today’s Skye Jethani could justly dub the phalanx of luminaries and institutions involved as the Evangelical Industrial Complex (EIC).

The EIC was stunned and embarrassed by the 80+ percent of evangelicals who rejected their directives and voted twice for Trump. Baptist pastor and author John Piper rushed out a blogpost on the eve of the 2020 election to argue for the comparable “deadliness” of Trump’s character flaws with the killing of the unborn. Washington D.C. pastor Mark Dever praised the “multi-issue” African-American Democrat voters who “realized a long time ago that nobody’s gonna do much about [abortion].” For Dever, such sophisticated voting compares favorably to the supposed simpleton, single-issue, white GOP loyalists who “just don’t know any other way to think about voting.”

Moore reflects If Russell Moore and Tim Keller fear idolatrous worship of politicians, they’d do better to address those concerns with the blue communities they serve.

EIC...evangelical industrial complex This is what it is. Just pointing it out specifically.

[b]the posture taken by influential evangelical elites who long ago embraced superstar NYC pastor Timothy Keller’s fixation upon “blue communities” deemed capable of keeping evangelicals on “the right side of history,” — college-educated, Democrat-voting denizens of the nation’s cities and blue enclaves clustered in and around universities from sea to shining sea. THIS is what the left calls Christian NAtionalism. They call it that and condemn in order to shut down christians.

Patriotism is not bad. When our government is good we praise our government. This scripture says "give honor to whom honor is due..."

Patriotism, love of the fatherland, is not wrong. We are to give honor to whom honor is due.

Next, we are to preach to our country... God's people dare not be silent. We will be civil. But we won't be silent... As long as they're killing babies and practicing infanticide, I will not be silent. As long as we have a government that is trying to normalize sexual perversion, I will not be silent. As long as they're handing out condoms to high school and junior high school students in so-called God blessed America, I will not be silent. And as long as a free born American is told he cannot pray out loud anywhere, I will not be silent...

We must say to our government, whatever is morally wrong is not politically right!

If Rogers could see how much further we have descended into sexual sin and madness today with the LGBT revolution, I guarantee he would be preaching against it louder than ever.

It's inconceivable that God would ordain human government and then tell his people to stay out of it. If that is true, who does that lead to run it?

It's a term used by the left to shut up Christians...to bully them into silence and submission...to treat evil leftist ideology on an equal footing as Christ and God's Word. well..it isn't.

As Politico and “God & Country” make abundantly clear, by “Christian nationalism,” they mean any effort by Christians to vote and live according to their faith. Period.
