My first stew
For 29 years of wedded bliss, the lovely Mrs has stayed home with the kids and cooked all of the meals. Our children are all adults and the Mrs took a job. I have been home recovering from a minor surgery and have been cooking the meals. I used my experience of ogling my wife while she cooks and eating her food to try to duplicate her stew. I think I did pretty good. The test is when the Mrs gets home from work. I'll tell her that her mother helped me if it doesn't turn out right. (jk She is 89 with dementia and can't remember what I did.)
Brown 2 lbs of ground beef with diced onion in the pot and pour off the excess grease.
Add:
4-5 potatoes
1 can of corn
1 can of green peas
1 can of green beans
1 can of whole kernel corn
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 can of tomato sauce

What do you know? The Mrs has already said that she is taking a bowl to work for lunch tomorrow. I'm the man. (If cooking and cleaning define a man)

Re: My first stew
Sounds good. Reminds me that I need to drag out my slow cooker so I can load it up in the morning and then just leave it to do its thing.

It works better if you put some food in it.

I read somewhere that you are a fabulous cook and a fantastic baker. I'm positive that was an accurate assessment.
