I am stunned by how coarse society has become.  They have absolutely zero capacity for appreciating the sanctity of LIFE.  They have no conscience, there's no such thing as "good and bad" anymore.  At least not for them, there isn't.  

And that judge handing a teen back to parents who allowed the miscreant to go carousing in the middle of the night needs to have his head examined.  

Then again, when I was in the 8th grade, my 2 girlfriends and I would sneak out at night and "ditch cars."  By that, I mean we'd pick a destination to get to and back, w/o getting caught.  Any time we heard a car coming we then run for cover, ("Ditch it!"), so as not to get caught.  Then go back home. 
Didn't break or hurt anything.  It wouldn't have occurred to us.
I eventually got busted.  I got lazy, and didn't put the rope ladder I'd made between the mattress and box spring.  Then mom vacuumed.  Whoops!  Odd thing is, I didn't get in trouble.  But it was definitely the end of my galavanting!  lol

Sounds kinda' familiar.  I used to climb out my bedroom window over the garage, jump down to a lower place at the entrance of the garage, and then jump to the ground.  A bunch of us would just wander around the neighborhood.  It would NEVER occur to us to vandalize someone's property or hurt someone we might come across.  But mostly, if a car was coming, we'd hide in case it was a cop car, cause they would have taken us home, gotten our parents up, and then we'd be grounded.  About the only "bad" type of thing we'd do was like:  One time there was a guy in our neighborhood that all us girls had a crush on.  But, he wouldn't hardly even talk to any of us, was just always primping his car.  So we took some chalk, made an outline around his car and wrote "Reserve for Daryl, jerk & car just married".  It really pissed his mom off...  ;o))
