It would be nice if the cackling hags on The View would stop seeing movies that have gun fights in them because really the movies are fiction. Not everyone is a sniper with a skill to shoot a tick off a violent teens ass at a moments notice. Reality doesn't work that way. This police could have just gone in there like John Wick. Maybe that would have been better?

Didn't someone even say, "a counselor should have been able to diffuse the situation"?

Ok, just tell everyone to stop what they're doing until a counselor shows up.....if they can locate one AND if he/she is available to rush right over.

They really should be ashamed of their dumbness.

Okay, more seriously... These people do. not. think. They exist with gray matter floating around, and actually get paid to expose that sorry fact. But like the author said:

But the only way people are going to be able to have a frank conversation about this case is if people are willing to risk being insensitive or offensive when discussing the facts about this case.

That. That right there is the problem, and one invented via p.c. specifically for 'conversations you can no longer have.' That way, only government can "solve" problems.

It is amazing, as in mind-boggling.

I'd like to see some form of self-policing and accountability brought back into society. This idea that someone else is responsible for your safety, health, etc. has gotten way out of hand. When natural consequences for actions becomes a reality again, people will put more thought into what might actually happen to them in various circumstances. They'd adjust themselves accordingly.

Maybe Hollywood paints a rosy picture, but I think this country was about perfect throughout the 40's. Remember that movie, "Boys Town" with Spencer Tracey and Mickey Rooney? (Late 30's, but close enough.) Sure there were, and always will be, rots in this world, but I truly believe the good outweighed the bad. Ladies were ladies, and gents were gents.

My mom and dad - and likely many of your parents - grew up in that era. It quite possible that their wholesomeness grew out of getting through the Great Depression with as much dignity as possible. The styles for ladies were fabulous!
Lucky me! My mom saved all her clothes, and guess whose blazers and jackets fit me perfectly in high school?! Yeah, I had it made - all right out of the attic. (Well, not all, but you get the drift.)

Btw, I thought the evening wear for that era was kinda ugly. But the fitted suits and coats with shoulder pads? They were made to flatter any figure. And again, people minded their p's and q's. There were consequences for those who didn't.

They knew shame.
