The Mary River is expected to flood up to the 21 M level.
Centre of Maryborough is being evacuated.
21M = 69 feet.

It has suddenly jumped AND a big rain cloud is right over it
W........is now at 84.4%
it's gone up 26.5% in less than 48 hours
This has got to a dangerous area rapidly
That dam is currently limited to 90% so it is pretty much full really
All of the rivers feeding it must be in full flood, with more rain coming.
It has been releasing water for hours

What is downstream of the dam?
I can't believe Australia doesn't build lakes. Not only would it support wildlife and agriculture, it would give you more options to safely divert flooding. Much more of your Outback would be habitable.
