14 ?, that's probably a little ambitious lol
Probably from choppin all that wood
That is the sort of attitude here from some people.
They ignore science, are unable to discuss quotes from the Bible and feel safe when verbally abusing someone.
There are also those tricky little things known as sarcasm and humor.
That's always a tough one to navigate lol

All the smaller ones are already spilling or releasing
Wivenhoe is now at 59.7%
I think they named that dam after my X. Bad sign.
Seriously, from what I hear of your lack of fresh water, filling your dams and lakes should be a good thing overall. Stay safe. I hope you have been building lakes and reservoirs to utilize this flood.

There in lies the problem , all the woke greenies don't want you flooding areas to create artificial lakes ,

There are very few artificial lakes in Australia and the natural ones are disappearing. For a continent that receives so little rain water retention is not well utilized.

yes, that's not so good.
I'll get that name changed for you.
No new dams have been built for over 20 years. The population has increases.
Worldwide, fresh water supply is a serious issue

Yes, water retention is poorly utilised.
One plan I like is to divert some of the the annual summer monsoon rain from North Territory way (Tropical climate) back to inland instead of it all going back to the ocean.
The interior is lower than sea level. To a degree gravity will be working for us.
I think the engineering is a problem there. Still, if there is a political will, engineering problems can be overcome

Certain parts of Aus receive a shit load of rain , , they need to capture it and pipe it out to the places that don't

As the sea level rises they should consider flooding areas that are below sea level , this would help everyone

I have heard that Texas has only one natural lake in far East Texas. All of the others are man made and we couldn't support our population without them. We still have water problems in some areas of West Texas. They don't get much rain out there.
Building a pond and stocking it with fish is very common in Texas. It provides water for the cattle and a constant source of fish. We call them "stock tanks". Some people even submerge heat exchangers for their air conditioning system in the stock tanks. If I do rain collection, a stock tank is the perfect place to send my overflow water.

Not that many years back In Auckland it was illegal in an urban area to have a tank and collect your own water,
You can make ponds here but you cant stock them with fish, unless they are a native , we have no native fish that are edible , other that eels
